Ok, well for all you that dont know me you can read my post history and see that I am a very paranoid guy lol. So basically this leads me to my question. I did a Google search on Bat guano and it seems like it's only used for marijuana. So I was wondering what else is bat guano used for? I'm asking this because if I go into a grow store and trying to buy bat guano they probably are gonna wonder what is a young black man that looks nothing like a farmer want with some bat shit lol!

Howdy orangeman,

For one thing, bat guano is great for increasing the brix factor,of any given plant, many tomato growers use bat guano to produce sweet, tasty tomatoes and I can only guess, that it would be great for other veggies and fruits,as well.

I'd tell em that you heard that batguano increases the natural flavor and sweetness,of tomatoes and that you prefer to use organic ferts for the safety and health of yer family.

Have a good one !

Lol cool, thanks Torog. I'll definately do this. I was gonna say "Everyone probably knows that tomatoes are a substitute word for marijuana now" but my grandmother grows tomatoes so they might not be that rarely grown by civilians :p.

Howdy orangeman,

I hear ya on the tomato 'substitute'..lol..however,you can also add, that tomatoes are high in lycopenes and anti-oxidants,as well as vitamin C,so are red bell peppers and that yer grandma said that bat shit was best for making veggies taste their best and keepin em healthy. I also think that you should see if yer grandma, would like to try some on her tomatoes too. Heck, you oughta ask yer grandma for gardening tips, she might have some good ones for ya..lol.

Have a good one ! :stoned:

You're getting a lot of good info on your security requirements.

With all do respect as well....Ive been asked what I needed worm castings, Bat Guano, Foxfarm Ocean Forest soil and 20 x 6 inch pots along with a trimeter and some pH up before.

My first instinct was to talk about organic natural gardening that I planned.
Then as I slowly answered in a confident manner. I said I wanted to start my garden correctly and keep it well maintained with the best natural feedings I could find and balance the pH of those feedings and soil as well.

When asked what type of garden....I replied actually for every houseplant in and around my home and garden. I just want to see healthy results.

I thought on this reply on the way home and reasoned with myself .......most serious gardeners watch pH of their soil and feedings and require good results.
I guess to sum it up......if asked ......answer confidently for your uses or a fat azz none of your business will work too.

....and that guano could be used as a nice tea for good feedings of any plants.

Lol, that's probably what I would say. Even after remembering all of this stuff to say when it probably comes down to it I'd probably say "stay out of my business" or somethin like that because I cant believe some one would have the nerve to ask you what your buying something for lol! They are the cashier, their job is to sell me my items, take my money and then I go on about my business, not for them to know about it.

I do grow tomatos. To be honest all you need is one of those long grow bags and some sun and you get great results with just that. If someone told me that they wanted guano for tomatos, I would laugh. "I get ya, ;) ;)".

pH testing and altering stuff - I use this for my aquarium. Genuine answer.
ferts - probably a good idea to just get what you want in smallish quantities, but from a discreet source. And pay cash.

You know what guano was originally mined for?
As a source of nitrogen to make explosives.
Nuff said. Have fun with your homemade TNT.

I am growing (and eating) said tomatoes right now. Grown in bat guano and sunshine in my greenhouse. They are some of the best tomatoes I have ever tasted - seriously.

I'm growing the weed that's hidden behind them with guano too, of course. Oh and some mint :)

yes, technically, "nitrates", usually from chickenshit and bat guano, used for explosives ... look at the Federal Building in Oklahoma City to see the power of nitrates ... blown up with a van load of nitrates fertilizer and diesel fuel ... :(
