So I don't really post here much at all, I mostly lurk, but my rents busted me today. I'm 19 and in college but am still home for the summer. My dad found a pipe, and a couple of my j's rolled up in my car. My mom could be the poster child for the DEA, she used every bullshit argument they've been spouting for 30 years now. And everytime I countered it with a perfectly logical and organized explanation she ignored it or denied it completely. She's convinced I'll soon become addicted to pot (ignored the fact that pot is not addictive) and that I'll soon move on to harder drugs such as coke and heroin. She is unwilling to open her mind and let me explain the intricacies of this plant and how it affects me with music and such. She wants me to do a drug test every week (i explained pot stays in the system for up to 30 days and she ignored it) and is ready to kick me out of the house, which I may do and just stay with a friend til the end of summer. It's a pretty fucked up situation and I don't know what to make of it.

Sorry for the long post, this has been a really fucked up day though and I just needed to get it all out.

Dude find evidence from this website man. Show them everything. Go on google show them that it isnt just this website wit a buncha stoners. Nobody is a stoner. They just smoke weed. Whatever, in my opinion. If their smoking weed and not out egging and breaking shit. Nobody is hurt. So fuck it.

Anyway, wow why does your parents hate weed so much. What convinced them to be like that.
I understand parents but even my parents aren't like that and I thought they were so crazy against it.

i'll probably be moved out of the house by the end of the week, there just doesnt seem to be any way to convince them that this is a harmless drug for me. I've showed them all the evidence I can get and they won't hear a word of it. What a bummer.

Some parent's are just stubborn, they don't beleive that someone younger then them can be correct, especially about cannabis. When you move out it'll be a lot better. I wish you luck in the future and a life of stress free happy ganja smoking :)

No parents to worry bout, just a landlord. Some parents are very stubborn like that. Including mine. I try and try for 2 years, no luck.

Raise your voice, print some facts, present it to them and let them know they can't interupt you while you make your speech. Say, "I'm mad as hell, and I'm not going to take it anymore!" :p Nah, I'm kidding, but really, tell them, "hey! I listened to you, now you listen to me", but be serious about it. Don't be like, "mommy, I'm sorry, don't be mad." You're a big boy, you're 19.

If that fails, time to look for some PT work and move in with a few buddies. Go to school, move in with 3 or 4 friends in a place. The more people, the cheaper the rent. I know a few people who work only 20hrs a week, who live with 5 other people mind you, but get by just fine. You're 19 now and they shouldn't be surprised that their 19yr old is smoking pot. Surely they saw this coming.

Ur 19, how the fuck r they gonna get u drug tested every week, and what 4, they can't do nething about it. Just telll tehm u smoke pot, and whether they like it or not, that's how it is and they're r just gonna hav to accept that. That's what I told my parents.

Just wanted to thank all of you for the advice, support, and responses. For now it seems as though my mom is cooling down and understanding this is a choice of my own that I have made and will continue to do. My dad is much more understanding since he was a huge Dead Head and did his fair share of pot as well as many psychedelics. Unfortunately my parents do pay for my college education so I can't simply leave and let that be the end of it. I'm hoping that my mom will come around and leave me be, since I'm causing no harm and have been doing great in school and such. Once again, thanks to all of you who responded and gave me some support, if I could i'd smoke each and every one of you up reallll good :)
