they look like they're coming along nicely dude  , i just ordered some lowryder seeds myself. but i'm wondering, how much root room do they need from start to finish. like what size pot could grow a sprout until it flowered (at let's say 14")???? thought you might have an idea

the big plant and the one next to it are just mids seeds. do you think the others are too small for their age?? they are on day 13... should i be using only the water/nutes mix or should i be switching back and forth from plain water to the mixed water??

have u guys ever heard of chocolate thai stick? this kid gave me a nug at school check it out...

O well the lowryders aren't too small for day 13 i guess they still need a lil more time the mid plant must just be growing fast.

what does it mean when the pedals turn yellow? on one of them the pedal just shrivled up..

Well if u have 2 in one pot they can strangle each other by the roots. Other then that u could have a nitrogen deficiency or too much nutes.

what does it mean when the pedals turn yellow? on one of them the pedal just shrivled up..

Its a nitrogen deffiency. I dont think the plants are 'strangling' them selves already .... One is significantly bigger then the other , they dont have enough roots to wrap up and strangle eachother yet. Feedthem some nitrogen, but not a big dose, should green that bad girl up.

So everyday i come back from school it seems there are like 3 or 4 of these little bugs sitting on the leaves of my plants. ive been noticing some holes and some yellow spots at random places of the leaves. I got a picture of the bug could someone tell me what it could be/what i should do.

i dont know what the bugs are but that lowryder plant looks extremely small even for a lowryder.

Slackersulli
09-18-2006, 05:29 AM
Yeah, I believe Lowryders usually grow about 12-15 inches before they start to flower. That seems pretty small.

Dutchmaster420
09-18-2006, 07:13 PM
i think its from all the shock from moving them outside after week2. Anyway the big plant is almost 2 feet tall now and is flowering... the top cola is starting to get really hairy but the rest of the branches look like they are growing seeds? is it female or male? or maybe its just cus its mids its growing both seeds and hairs?

should i take off the male parts.

Baker420
09-21-2006, 03:21 AM
no no no the "seed" looking things might just be part of the bud... some more pics would be better.

Earthy Dank
09-22-2006, 03:34 PM
its male I'd just kill it... those are pollen sacs that are about to burst with pollen and any nearby females will be ruined...

Dutchmaster420
09-22-2006, 06:27 PM
are u shure it has hair all over it...

Earthy Dank
09-22-2006, 06:30 PM
Its hermaphrodite... I would kill it... Hermaphrodites are just as bad as males...

Dutchmaster420
09-22-2006, 06:44 PM
if it keeps growing its just gona harvest real shitty seedy mids right? or will it not be smokeable

Earthy Dank
09-22-2006, 08:21 PM
Id say the buds would be tiny and full of seeds... you may get something... but any other females you have will be pollenated too and they will make seeds. Thus shitty weed thats half seed, half green.

NightProwler
09-24-2006, 03:48 AM
you could sell the hermie to someone...

Yeah, I believe Lowryders usually grow about 12-15 inches before they start to flower. That seems pretty small.

You're wrong. Lowryders start to flower around the 20th day from seed..I believe.

ummm... this is the first time ive read this thread and just wanted to point out, the 'pedals' turning yellow and shrivelling up is not a defficiency of any kind, all plants do this, those first round leaves (cotyledons) actually store all the nutes needed to take it through the seedling stage, and will die at adolescence, there is nothing to worry about, oh yeh, nice plants man ;) lowryders are cool plants...

I have a hermie among three females and just took some tweezers and plucked the "balls" off it. I freaked when I first saw it and searched the threads here for a solution. It doesn't make any sense to throw out a perfectly good plant just because it grows a few nubs. So far the plant I castrated still looks like the other two. I'm keeping a close eye on it until I cut them down.

sorry i was talkin about the end of the first page my mistake

Earthy Dank
03-07-2007, 01:48 AM
ITs best to kill hermies because they will pollenate your females and the seeds that they make are no good... Its possible to take all the balls but you'd have to pay very close attention... A few days of neglect will make your buds full of seeds

His lowryders were very yellowish compared to mine which are a dark green color. Just something I noticed.

your lowryders look aweful. you should never grow plants in a clear container..... or one that will let light hit the roots. this will stunt growth and cause molding. if you grow lowryder again start them off in at least a one gallon pot. they don't get more than two feet tall out doors but this is all determined by how much root space you give them. i am growin lr2 right now. my latest batch is 8 days old and on there third set of true leave. i'm growing in dirt using distilled water. when you grow lr you SHOULD NOT FERTILIZE in the first couple of weeks. the plant will carry the nutrients it needs in the "round" leaves (the first set, not true leaves). if these turn yellow and fall off in the first couple of weeks you can fertilize, but i never use more than 1/8th strenght for the first application. (i use b.c. boost and growth) continue fertalizing at 1/4 strenght then 1/2 untill the third week, you should be able to sex them at the end of the third week or within a few days either way. i let mine continue to flower for a week and then start them on 1/2 strenght blooming fertilizer (i use b.c. boost and bloom and add awesome blossom and kick it to full strenght for the seventh and eighth weeks, flushing weeks nine and ten. why wait ten weeks for less than an ounce????
