I see a lot of threads about the rediculous anti-pot ads floating around. So why can't we fight back? One of these days, somebody should start a site where people can donate to a paypal account to raise enough money to start airing a pro-marijuana commercial.

i dont think any mainstream tv broadcasting company would let that happen.. not just because they dont want to but the FCC has to pretty much approve anything that goes on the air and the tv broadcasting company would either get a hefty fine or worse.. very appealing idea but would never happen, wishful thinking is a bitch

That's a fucking fantastic idea.
I would certainly contribute, and I'm sure many of the people on this site and others would as well.
It is of course unrealistic as hell..television ads can cost hundreds of thousands of dollars if not millions. But if you think how many stoners there are in America..and if we had even half of them give 5-10 dollars each..it could happen.
We'd have to find the right television channel, the right ad company..
Shit, let's do it.

A lot of people say that they don't smoke marijuana because it's against the law to do so. Yet, rolling through a stop sign, not using your blinker, going 1mph over the speed limit...these are all crimes. But these crimes to not involve personal choice and freedom of a relaxing herb, so it's not near as illegal to go 10mph over the speed limit and risk killing someone than it is to smoke a doobie? EFF-that. It is a 'drug.' 'Drugs' have an incredibly bad name in America. We need to re-illustrate what marijuana really is...A plant, not a destructive toxic substance(like alcohol for instance)

Then we just opay millions (yeah, right) for the ad so the fine the company gets is paid for by us :p lol.. I'll start by putting in a quid ;)

somebody needs to run for a higher government position with a campaign that is based of legalizing marijuana. I know for sure that individual would not win, but it would get the idea in mainstream thought, rather than the wishful thinking of a bunch of stoners. Also, im sure if that person ran on that platform, he/she would be able to make the type of commercial that you guys are talking about.
