alright, so i figure my tolerance has gone up in the past half year or so of smoking atleast once a week.. and i damn well miss the days when i used to be able to roast just a bowl or two and go bananas. so im curious; have any of you guys quit for a while just to get that easy-high back? or for other reasons. the point is, when you smoked again, how much better was it, and how long did you quit for? casue im plannin to do so here soon if its worth it.

My friend used to smoke daily. Until I got him to take a break for about a month. When he smoked again he got absolutely ripped off of 2 or 3 hits. Ever since he's cut his smoking back to taking a week long break and then smoking for a week and saves weed and money now.

I've quit for days, weeks, months, and years. Days didn't do much, but the longer durations somewhat reduced any tolerance I'd built up. Is it worth it? Well, since everyone reacts differently, and everyone has different priorities, only you can really judge that.

I smoked several times a day for 14 years and had a seriously high tolerence level. Then I stopped completely for 5 years. When I started smoking again I found my tolerance had gone completely. I only needed a little bit to get really high. What I didn't get back, however, was that crazy, happy laughing high that I used to get when I first started.
My theory is that the crazy high you experience when you first start smoking has more to do with your mind and body experiencing a new sensation than it does with tolerance levels. When you quit for a while your tolerance goes away but the memory of that new sensation is still logged into your brain. So, unless something happens that completely erases all of your memories, you'll never get it back.

I look forward to quitting and smoking again a month or two down the line. Like someone said, 2 or 3 hits and it's like you're a virgin all over again.

well if it takes 30 or so days for thc to leave your system so you only have to stop for a month to remove your tolerence level. i think.... idk all i know is that im high as fuck right now :D

This must be a factor for a lot of people because everyone here says to take very long breaks to increase your tolerance. Lab rats tested for tolerance only took 7 days to have a full response to the drug again (including full neuroreceptor counts) and the most rapid decrease in tolerance happened durring the first day. My experiences with mj have led me to believe that this is also true for people. I think the secret is not to take a long break and then start smoking constantly again, but to space out your highs evenly. If you aren't getting high enough on what you have, just wait a little longer between smokes.

Yeah, the only time I can feel a tolerance is when Im smoking more than once a day. I think that there is actually a small reverse tolerance that you develop when you smoke once every few days.

In my opinion, when ur olerance goes up, that just means u should upgrade to a better weed, not up and quit. I could never live a month without weed. Shit, I can barely get thru a day without weed.

I had my tolerance up until I got caught and now I smoke like once a month and it takes me like one bong hit to start feeling it again.
