Legalization on the state level is increasing rapidly, but it is still a federal crime and until that is changed, reform in any other area is ultimately doomed. To legalize bud we have to get congress to overturn the existing law, there are petitions you can sign but unfortunately I doubt that they will be taken seriously due to the overwhelming dilemma of young teens participation in signing them. In order to be successful VOTERS have to sign a formal petition showing that we will not allow the government to restrict our use of a free-growing plant. If you want to help, send letters to your congressional representative, and tell them that you the voter feel that you should have the right to freely use marijuana both medicinally and recreationally. Enough people do this and maybe the fight to legalize it will finally come to an end. As long as it is illegal there will be people fighting to make changes, so cross your fingers, write your letters, and hope that the government will start to give a shit about its voters opinions, and one day you and I may be able to enjoy God's gift to man freely.
....or just move to Amsterdam.

Will it be legal? Yes. When? Someday.

Who knows when it will be "legal". No one knows, and no one will ever know. The chances of it are pretty slim though. Pot heads have a bad enough name now as it is.

I was in Los Angeles recently and a law was passed there that said it was basically legal to smoke pot on your porch or balcony.

state laws can only be passed to strenghten federal penalties, not weaken them, so be careful; if you got a dick cop they could still prosecute you under the federal law. But chances are they wont, so toke up and have fun!:stoned: :stoned: :stoned: :stoned:

100 dollar fine if you're caught here. They'll find ways to dick you over, like trying to implicate your car and court fees, but still, no jail time for less than an ounce.

They will NEVER legalize it for anything other than medicinal purposes because there is no way to test a person to see if they are high or "under the influence" at the time of question. You could get pulled over, not have smoked in a few weeks and the cop suspects you are under the influence cause you are tired or your allergies are acting up and your eyes are red so they make you get tested and the test comes back positive. You didn't smoke, you aren't high and you just got a DUI. The only way it will ever be legalized is if they find a better method of testing.

If you want to get a better insight to as when it will be legal, just take at the re classfication of the uk.
Id say in this country it will be about 5 - 10 years before they legalise it and realise that they can make more money from selling it legal, than the price im currently paying.
But the sooner the better i say.

i say it will one day be legalized... i think if they did legalize i would like them to set a age limit to buy it... At a gas station for instance i think it should be 18. But then again not prosacute anyone under the age of 18 for ingesting the drug... I think my fantasy day will be the day if i ever can just walk into a gas station and ask for a ciggerallo with nicley packed green in it..

Did you ever realize they get more money from busting us, selling our marijuana and + the money they get from putting us in jail. I mean think about it, when they bust us and get our marijuana they either smoke it or sell it, you really think they burn that shit or dispose of it while shaking their heads going "damn shame" LOL yeah right. Until some one righteous comes in office and legalizes personal use and cultivation it'll never be legal in any other form.

Damn SharpeStoner, where do you live? I'd be screwed. Do they test everyone? What are the penalties? How long does it last in your saliva? Do the charges hold up in court? I would be happy if it became accurate. I would have no problem not driving stoned in exchange for legalization. As a matter of fact I would probably only leave my house to go to work.

Sadly, I live in the States and I don't see marijuana being legalized in our lifetimes. Which pisses me off.
There's no doubt that it will most definately be legal in the future, for personal use just like alcohol, but that's a long road ahead. :(
when it does become legal do you guys think that prices will increase decrease or stay the same?

like orangeman said there will be taxes but i think prices will drop because you no longer have to pay the middleman for trafficing. But, when it does go legal i plan on having a nice little garden of my own, so no worries there. Georgia is just too damned strict and im scared to grow here now.

i think they need to like have a special about marijuana on tv at primetime like on abc or something, so the whole u.s. can really know the truth about marijuana, then more people will probably be for it than against it

the sooner we get out the vote, the sooner it will happen. Medical and decriminalization are the first steps. so my answer is this.
When u write your congressman it will happen. If u don't think that works, check out the states decriminaliztion has happened and alaske where it is not illegal. people in office know they will lose their jobs if the voters disagree with them... they like their jobs.. they are cushy and pay well.
Get out the vote!
