I know this heat wave has moved right across the whole country, and we're getting our share now here in the northeast. yesterday at around 6PM, we lost power throughout the neighborhood. It was cool at first, hangin outside with all the neighbors, but man, my house was like 95-100 degrees all night. I never slept, and just ended up showering and going to work this morning. I dragged my ass all day, only to come home and find we still didnt have power.
About 30 minutes ago a friend stopped by with his generator he uses for his constuction work. Its a portable one, but its enough to handle one air conditioner, a TV, and my computer or whatever other light electric device I would need. We tried the refridgerator on there with it but it blows the breaker, which sucks cause my wife just spent $200 on groceries yesterday afternoon about an hour before the power went out. Lost everything in the fridge/freezer.
I'm sure my neighbors are going to hate having to listen to that thing run all night, but hey, dont hate the player, hate the game ;) They said chances are that we wont have electicity tonight either, so i'll be chillin :)
All I can say, is that last night REALLY REALLY sucked, and I appreciate my utilities alot more now hehe, even if they cant keep em running all the time lol.
Hope everyone here is fairing well through it.

Sorry to hear about your heat but damn glad it moved your way and away from here. We had the heat wave out here in California last weeka and it was unbearable. Temps at my house got up to 113F and I heard one town an hour or so away got up to 120F. And we're not down in the desert, we're up in the San Francisco area which is normally cool. I heard that over 100people died from heat realted conditions during our heat wave. Same thing with the power outages too. It's amazing how fast a house can heat up when the air conditioning is turned off.
Back to normal now though, 75F, sunny skies, and a nice breeze. Perfect tokin weather. I'll go out, light one up, and send good wishes for cooler weather your way.

Yeah, I appreciate my utilities a lot more. My power was off for three days. Some people nearby were without for NINE DAYS, so I suppose I was 'lucky'. I slept on the concrete floor in the basement one night.

I just read that heat, not tornados, hurricanes, lightning, or cold, is the number one weather related killer in the United States. Each year over 1500 people die as a result of heat waves. The elderly and infants are the most at risk.

Thanks for the words Fengzi, they must have worked, cause like Puff said, a storm just rolled through and took the heat with it :)
Just wrapped up the generator because the electricians just left also a little while ago and we have power :) Life is normal again.
Now its time to go buy groceries, again lol. Good luck to anyone still dealing with the heat. I feel for ya guys.

Sorry graph, the blame is all on you. Tomatoes love heat. Mine are doing awesome after the heat wave. The plants are 10' tall and I've got more tomatoes than I know what to do with. Face it, your a killer.

I know. I'm only a few miles from the Canadian border, and it was fuckin 102° yesterday. That's insane. And I had to walk 40 minutes to work because my shoulder is all fucked up and I can't ride my bike. By the time I got there my shirt was literally drenched with sweat, and I had to change into a different one. I hung it up to dry and 10½ hours later when I got off work the shirt was still wet and it was still 86° outside.

Today was actually a nice break after 2 weeks of a solid 90 degrees or higher. I think it was like 87, but it felt like 10X as good, probably b/c the humidity was down, and for once, a breeze caught my face, and cooled it off : )

Aww... just... awww...
Actually, I kinda knew it was me. My dwarf basil's fine, and there are a few that pulled through really nicely, but the ones that lived were older.
How've you been doing man?
