Hey all,
I've been posting here on and off for a while now and have decided its high time I took the plunge and tried a growthread of my own.
I've actally had a couple of months off this year while we got a few things together in the home but its back to it with a half dozen white widows from seeds.
They sprouted 5 days ago now (28 July) and are now sitting under 4 20W fluoros in the cellar where they'll stay til they're big enough to go under an enviro for a bit of vegging.
The soil mix is 5 parts levingtons multipurpose to 3 parts hercules coir with added lime and calcified seaweed. They've also been given some friendly fungi already as I find it helps to keep the plants nice and healthy.
No food for them as yet when they show need it'll be biobizz grow in veg followed by bloom for flowering which I'm hoping will be enough for some decent nugs. Its been a while since I've had any widow so they'll be well appreciated as WW rocks.
Its a bit hard to make any plans about scrog or sog or anything like that yet as the flowering rooms still getting the ventilation and lighting sorted so this round will be a kind of a make it up as I go grow. Hopefully it'll all go to some sort of plan though and the extra fanpower will mean bigger and healthier buds too.
The last pic is of 4 ak47 clones that I was given this week by a friend who had no room for them. They weren't the healthiest cuttings I've seen but I've repotted and given them a dose of superthrive and will get them on the biogrow next watering which should go some way towards picking them up.
Theres a male back right that I my use for seed yet will see how it all goes. It would be nice to have a rake of ak47 seeds for the futurein case they ever clamp down on the seed vendors in the UK. Plan ahead to stay stoned is the motto of the day here.
Enough for now anyway theres things to do will update as they grow.
Laters peeps,

White Widow crossed with AK47 = White Russian.

22% THC, one of the strongest smokes out.

Certainly the stinkiest.

Good luck.

Hey all back again,
Thanks for the comments too, hope your plants are doing well dryst and HARDDON excellent idea about the white russian I'm going to go for it. The AKs have turned out to be all girls which means no AK seeds so I'll hope to get a male from the widows for the X its got to be worth it for 22% that was a good call.
Lifes taken me away from the web a lot recently so its a been a bit difficult keeping up with the thread here let alone the board but I've taken a few snaps just for a bit of an update to keep things ticking along ok while we build the rest of the flowering room.
First couple of pics are the widows which are on about day 12. Looks like they should have been potted up on day 10 but they'll get that in the morning now and hopefully will perk up a bit in the next couple of days. Will get them under a blue envirolite too which should help then maybe its biogrow time?
Next are the ak47s. The 2 that went into the biggest pots have picked up something wicked and I'm well chuffed. They've started on the biogrow and seem to love it so will carry on with 1ml/l now.
Next 2 in the 5in pots are having a more mixed time. The smallest is doing just fine, greening up nicely but the bigger cuttings not quite so well and is picking up much slower. Guess a third big pot would have been a good move last week got a feeling I'd have 4 healthy girls then.
All in all its seems to be going ok though will pop up a few pics of the repotting over the next couple of days to show how the roots are doing and that, but leave it at this for now and just say thanks for stopping by.:)

Those babies look like they might be getting too much water or something. they are very beautiful but those lower leaves are yellowing awfully early.

When you transplant, use some rooting hormone powder.

Yes you're right on the watering. I've moved them to a cooler spot and have carried on watering once a day as I had to before and they don't seem to need it. I'll have to change my habits with the babs by the looks of things if i want them healthy looking.:)

On these plants, make sure you get the water as close to 7.0 as possible. Do not over water them.

Well things have moved on, we've carried on playing with the ventilation in the cellar and should have it up and running in the next few days.
The repotting of the widows went to plan and I took a few pics to show the roots and that. Pretty pleased with them actually as there was no brown, I'd worried about root damage with the droopiness but do seem to have got away with the earlier watering regime without doing too much harm. They picked right back up after a few days in the 5" pots so its onwards and upwards and they're already showing signs of needing to be potted on again and will be as soon as theres room for the bigger 11" pots.
Still struggling with the aks a bit, they're no worse just no better though I have potted them up into 11" pots yesterday which I think will help as they'd well filled the pots they were in. I'm hoping that a bit of time, biogrow and a finished ventilation system will sort them finally. I still believe one or two of them will be healthy enough for seeding with a widow male if I get one. The front right ak in the last pic is a better candidate than she appears there so perhaps she'll be the one. We'll decide for sure closer to time though as the back 2 plants are nice/n/bushy they just need to pick up first. Don't want seeds from a sick mother really thats making nature work too hard.
Thats it for now really I'll be back soon with more pics and with a bit of luck the flowering room'll be ready soon so I can show what we've come up with there and Harddon the waters sorted now as I've moved back onto dehumidified which they've always thrived on thanks.

Do the pots in the back have three plants each in them? Or only one?

How big are those pots you are using man? :smokin:

Just the one plant in each, they've just sprawled a bit is all. They were 5" pots at the front and 7" at the back in that posts photo too. I've repotted all 4 into 11" now like I said and they do seem to be gradually picking up. They're getting biogrow with each watering and I gave them some friendly fungi when they arrived which should be kicking in about now. They help the plant collect nutrients and I've found can pick a sickly plant up quite nicely. Will have to wait and see I know but I'm hoping they'll continue the slow improvements they're showing so I can flower in a week or so after a final potting on.:smokin:
I've gone and topped the widows too tonight. Didn't want them running away with themselves so I've done the deed and hopefully we'll get bushy little girls that give a decent canopy. I'm flowering in a smaller area than I've been used to before (5' by 4') so can't afford to grow trees anymore:D
laters all off for a j or 2 will update again as soon as theres ought to show,:)

Well things have moved on apace everythings repotted again and we're 3 days into flowering.:smokin:
The AK47's have picked up a treat and are loving it under the lights now that the ventilations getting there too. Its taken a while but theres an rvk150 sucking out and taking the hot air all the way out the top of the roof not bad since this is the cellar, well happy with it all I am and looking forward to many fun grows down here.
We still need another smaller fan at the bottom blowing cool air in to get that extra couple of degrees grace heatwise but thats it we can cope with temps of 28 tops which is what we seem to be getting now. Thats with 1 400w hps and 2 300w uvb bulbs on a short lightrail and 2 blue 200w enviros either side just to complete the spectrum. If we can get the temps down any more we'll change the 400 for a 600 but thats its hopefully we'll get fairly sticky buds with what we have.
Taken a few pics to get us started anyway. Firstly the 4 ak47s then the 3 female widows we had followed up by the male. He's nice and pongy which I've read is good for a dad and he'll do nicely for these white russian seeds so he'll be going up to the loft tomorrow to finish out the way of the girls.
Finished up with a pic of the flowering box just so any interested parties can see how and where they're growing it was a bit tight getting in there with the camera but I hope peeps can see whats what lightwise anyway.
laters all,

Thanks Binzhoubum cetainly looking forward to it. This'll be our first go at the AK47 though we have tried the 48.
They're moving along well now and are absolutely loving all the fresh air around them. Never had such healthy plants in the cellar before they've always suffered from something and it sure looks like its been mostly down to the lack of extraction, bloody glad its sorted now.
We've taken a few pics tonight what with it being a week gone by, 2 of the canopy then a close up to show the flower development of one of the widows followed by one of the aks which look to be a few days behind actually.
They're on the biobloom now, started them on it last night after having given them one last grow feed a few days ago to make sure they've got plenty of nitrogen to get them through.
We've picked up some Hammerhead PK 9-18 for em too which they'll be getting from next feed. its claimed to be better than the pk13-14 so we'll give it a try too.:rasta:

Hey thanks both for having stopped by and to all thats looked in.
Lifes stupid busy at the moment and keeps taking me away from the web soz but we've grabbed a few snaps recently and I'm gonna do an update now no matter how many bongs are flying around. :D
The male widow flowered up lovely and we used him to pollinate one of the ak47s which has worked a treat. He's been chopped and is well gone now but it looks like we're going to get absolutely hundreds of seeds and since they're going to be white russian I reckon its easily worth the loss of an ounce or so in yeild this crop and the hassle of deseeding the bud. The seeded stuff looks dead sticky though I really do think after doing this many times now that seeded is as potent if not more than sensi. I know its different for the nonuvb growers as a plant won't waste energy producing unneeded secondary metabolites if she has seeds to produce instead but you add uv and that changes very quickly as she works doubletime to protect her young.:twocents: Makes seeded bud much more intriguing it does.
I've not got adventurous with feed, I haven't seen any reports for that hammerhead I bought so have left it out for this grow. I got a bit worried about the chemicals in it killing the mychorrhizal fungi so have stuck with just the biobloom for this grow. I'll use the booster on the next crop when I know we've got plenty of weed in if it all goes wrong I reckon.
These pics are all from last sunday which was 28 days into flower for them all
Anyway to the pics, first one shows the lot including a couple of jhs that are only a fews days into flower (perhaps they'll get the Hammerhead.) and the second centres more on the ak47 mum just to show she's got no ill effects from the lights.
Think it shows I have to start scrogging for a tidy grow and better yeild but this ones more about getting the ventilation right so they've been in and out the box a lot while we were farting around so that wasn't possible which has been a shame. Do better next time there I hope.
Then its just a couple of pics of the seeded buds themselves to show the resin on the seed pods.

I Don't have many more pics handy yet so will take more for Sunday as they'll be 5 weeks into flower by then but I do have a couple of shots of the widows buds taken on the 1st too just to tide us over. Hope you enjoy and thanks for looking in.:smokin:

Well apologies for not getting back before to anyone following the thread. Life got a bit busy again in an excellent way and posting had to take a back seat for a while.:(
They flowered well though and the ak47's are dead potent. We have to stay off the stuff if we want to do anything apart from vegetate all day its just wicked. :stoned: Definitely going to grow that one again if I can sponge some more clones anyway. That may be ok as the seeding went very well, I got 1435 white russian seeds and they were pig to count but I've planted 42 of them out to see how they compare with the aks. I'm hoping for a decent smoke of them and will use the hammerhead and all when it gets to it too.
Few pics, one of the white russian seeds and then a couple of the seedlings, the WR's are in the white polystyrene there and theres a few JH's and Alpha 13's (Dr Chronics) to keep em company.
Laters all,:rastabong:
