Ok I am of course a first time grower, both hydro and outdoor (which are doing GREAT!)http://boards.cannabis.com/showthread.php?t=74402
Any how I got these plants in a hydro thing, and have a 150hps light on them, but started to see green stuff on the rockwool cubes, is it alge?? or possibly mold?? and what can I do to get rid of it?? and how can I prevent it from comming back?

howdy.....1st ~ yes it is mold and or algae....both of which are very simple to prevent.
All you have to do is add about 1 inch worth of red clay pebbles to the tops of the rockwool and spread it out equaly around the tops of the pots/buckets or grow nets, this will prevent the tops of the rockwool cubes from getting any mold/algae.
This happens when direct light and heat is available to things with moisture in it.....such as your rockwool......the fungus starts with longstanding moisture and high humidity....the mold needs moisture to begin growing and digesting what they are growing on.....so by adding the little round red clay pebbles, you elliminated their process of ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Longstanding Moisture + Direct Light + High Humidity = Mold & Mold Growth.
I hope you find this most helpfull,
Cheer's and goodluck,

if its alge its easy to git rid of u can get the stuff ready made and diluted ready to spray directly onto the rockwool. :D

Yes you can put the plants ,rockwool cubes and all, in a bucket of dirt and grow them that way. I start all my clones in cubes then plant in dirt after they get roots.
