Ok so Iam sure this is a first here, but has any one ever just grown a plant as a house plant. I mean I havint smoked since high school and I have no plans to smoke in the future, I just want a plant in my living room.
I have a small plant that was given to me by a friend about a month a go, its under about 60wats of halogen light. I add plant prod 20-20-20 once a week to its watter and watter every 2 to 3 days. Depending on how dry the soil is.
So what Iam asking is if I have no intention of harvesting or growing for bud, is there some thing else I should do, or maybe not do???
Do I have to fertilize once a week or can I just skip that part and just water and fertilize once a month??
Any and all help is welcome,
Thanks

ummm, well since you stated you're not looking for the bud to harvest, you just want it as a house plant.... uhm, its possible...but mj needs lots of light to live, unlike so many other plants...i guess it will grow, depending on how long you have the ceiling light on for in your room that you're growing in (i'm guessing bedroom or lounge). even with a small amount of light, it will grow but very tall and skinny
they can grow with 3-4 hours of light a day, and as you said low quality of bud and harvest isnt a problem so you'd be fine if you have a bitta light each day

Cannabis is a beautiful plant it would add a bit of beauty to
any room. Just watch out who you have over that will see
that growing smack dab in the middle of your living room.

AS LONG AS YOU KEEP MORE LIGHT ON HER THAN DARK,, SHE WILL LIVE AND GROW FOR MANY YEARS. BUT IF SHE FLOWERS,,, MAY HER SOUL REST IN PEACE.

Cats are the real scourge of mj growing...spider mites aint nothing compared to what a cat can do!
Ok, halogen lights are useless, but concidering you dont want any harvest, it doesnt matter.
Eventually you'll have to get rid of it and start again, because after a few months the plant will pre-flower naturally, even under a vegative cycle.

i think you should find something that requires less work and isn't illegal to grow in your house.
When your ready to grow some funk... come back here and you will find all the resources you need.

good luck man just get fluorescent light thats rated 40 watts and she'll be ok, also the plant will live for 10 years if you decide not to flower it but it will become bushy.

na man it wont die at flowering don't listen to him... it WILL live, it just won't provide bud. Well, it will provide bud....but you could hardly call it bud hehe.
Na but seriously, it'd just stretch heaps and flower prematurely. it'll be fine, you'll just need to replace it with a new one sooner than usual.
Unless you have lots of visitors, go for it man

Why dont you just put it by a window / put some lights under it..
Also.
Train the plant, bend the stem / tie it down, to make it grow slower + bushy.
Your aim :
Make it grow sideways not up :)
I have one as a house plant, for 4 years now, hasnt flowered, and it in the corner of my room and gets its light from the many windows.
BUT i get alot of yellow leaves :P

Why do people think it would croak after flowering? That's like
saying an apple tree dies after it produces apples....LOL

Right on, good to know, Iam hoping to keep it a good long time.
However I came home today and its welted all to hell. I think I killed it with water from the tap. My tap water smells like a pool, way to much chlorine even for drinking water. We have to filter the water and even then it still smells.
I used to use my fish tank water and the plant seemed to like it. I think I will go back to that .
Thanks for all the input every one and I have to say 4 years, that cool.
Thanks

You needa get some clean water on the plant quickly... if so it should straighten up within a matter of hours to a day, if not it'll die (obviously).
if youre in need for clean water, there's an endless supply of the best quality water you can get your hands on.... put a clean bucket out in the rain. :) :)
Good Luck
