View Full Version : How many of you have never been busted? And Why?

I have not, in all my years of drug use, I have never been caught by anybody but my mother, and that was because I was living in her house at the time. It hurts me to see so many people losing a part of they're lives in prison to a simple mild altering chemical. Going to prison just for a simple possesion charge, it is the most vile, unreasonable thing I have ever heard in this day and age. It's sick that the government treats drug users in such a way... I can't wait until this 'War on drugs' is over, the world and government are still evolving and being stupid I guess, you'd think we'd of figured it all out by now... But I digress...

What I mean to say is, I think a little bit of knowledge would have saved most people, a little bit of common sense. It hurts my soul to see even a fool serve prison time for getting caught, when it could have been easily avoided, if only they knew... I always thought it was common sense that if you plan on doing something illegal, be careful and use your brain, and most importantly, learn your civil rights and how to deal with cops who question you. Plan it out. I feel as though I am one of the vast minority who use drugs and know exactly how to handle a situation involving police...

Take for example that show on spike TV, don't remember what it's called, but I remember a guy who was stopped for a traffic violation, I don't remember why, but the police asked him if they could search the vehicle, he said yes, they popped the trunk and found POUNDS of marijuana in the back, all the while the man was screaming and crying in the squad car. I jumped up, through my cup of water at the TV and screamed 'Why the FUCK did you consent to the search!!!'. I couldn't believe the stupidity of that man, as if the police weren't going to look in the trunk. A simple bit of research could have informed him that he had civil rights and that this was the perfect time to put them to good use. Shit, if the man would have had a bit of common sense, he would have told them no, sped off, or probably, shut the fuck up, if they are going to search you anyway, what do you have to lose right?... Why, why is this not common knowledge? Why isn't this bit of information passed on from user to user? Why are so many people so irresponsible with they're actions? There is only 1 amendment that you actually need to know to save your ass, and that is the 4th, why doesn't the average smoker know this?

Anyway, sorry for the rant, I have made this thread to get an idea on how you more diligent folks get away with what you do.

For me, when I plan on smoking away from the cozy comfort of home, I take only what I need, usually a few joints or some bud and a small pipe. I go find a nice secluded spot around town, away from any roads, and smoke without a care in the world. Very simple right? Good idea right? Well, why is it that I keep reading about people smoking blunts on porches, or opium in parking lots. Or hotboxing on the side of the road. Why do people crack under cop intimidation and admit everything, why don't they prepare themselves for the inevitable day a cop is going to stop you on the street and try his hardest to bust you for something? I have been questioned many times while high as shit, many times the cop tried to make himself look tough, and I always smile and tell him I am on a walk and 'prefer to be alone with my thoughts' and keep right on walking. Cops are civilians and strangers too, you should treat them as such if they are just cruising to make an easy bust.

God damn I'm full of rants today... sorry about that, feels good to get them out. Anyway, you don't have to read all that, bottom line, how prepared are you in getting out of a sticky situation with the fuzz?

i saw that show, but i understood my rights long before seeing it, good job informing though, people need to allow the 4th amendment to do its job

I am glad you know them. This tiny bit of knowledge could make a world of difference when confronting a law enforcement officer. :)

Yeah, and the Supreme Court/PATRIOT ACT have decimated the 4th Amendment into virtual meaninglessness. They can get away with just about anything these days. Nonetheless, probably best not to consent to a search in the absence of a warrant, but know that the refusal could be used against you later if they secure a warrant after the fact. After the Supreme Court opened the door to Terry stops, it's been downhill all the way. Be careful, because they can get away with all kinds of searches now that were illegal just 20 years ago.

Boowho there is some truth to what you say but you are a bit misled. A "Terry Stop" refers to a brief pat down by law enforcement in order to secure his / her immediate surroundings in the event that the individual being investigated could have a weapon. This is very similar to when an officer asks you to place your hands where they can see them, for their own safety. Of course, when you have no weapons you have nothing to worry about and most people are willing to cooperate. Likewise, if you do not have any illegal paraphenalia then you have nothing to worry about.

The 4th amendment is hardly meaningless. However it is true in my opinion that if things such as the Patriot act allow to continue or new similar laws are enacted, then those things will make the 4th amendment meaningless.

I was at college, and one of my first times smoking up was in the track field at night; someone called the cops I suppose, and we noticed them driving towards us (no lights on) and dropped the stash, pulled out disgusting cigarettes and pretended like we were going to light up, while simultaneously spraying ourselves with a hospital deodorizer, and walked right past him. We were talking jovially, and he stared at us for a while, but didn't say anything. From now on, I REFUSE to do high rides, and if I am having pot in a public place, I include it only in foods that don't fit the typical pot brownies thing, like PBJ (and ganja butter, hah). Just be as creative as possible. I've injested my PBJB sandwiches right in front of cops, no attention to me.

Another thing is, when you're out in public and you gotta smoke, try your hardest to look like a conservative person, and try not to wear your Bob Marley or tye dye shirts and ponchos (if you do), because they are less likely to suspect you. Just be careful.

weed and cops no problems alcohol and cops big problems...
my friends were being stupid long story short and i ALMOST GOT CAUGHT but i was smart enough to hide in a good fuckin spot man!!!

but if you are smart you should never get caught.

don't smoke in cars(if you have to roll windows down, hotboxing truly can't get you that much higher), don't smoke/stash in possible view of cops, and don't be stupid in public!!!

soo easy, the only time you should ever be close to danger is picking up the stuff or droppin some off in which case you can usually figure out something if you are a good actor or just do it where no one is gonna call on you

I actually made a mistake that I will never make again...I told him I didn't mind if he searched me, but at that given moment I had forgot that I had a pipe and papers on me. I had given my weed to my brother, and didn't think anything of the pipe, but I got busted for parapnenlia...It was pretty stupid..
