Just curious If there is a harm in Starting a seed (After Germinated) In the pot you plan to grow it in untill its full size. Ex 1 Gallon or 2 Gallon.
The only concern I can think of too much water? The soil will hold to much water for how many roots are actully in the pot. Causing soggy soil and Molds and such Correct? If I am careful and never soak the soil untill the plant is bigger is this a safe move? I wont flush or water all soil untill it seems the plant can handle it. I will apply water to 1 or 2 inchs around the small plant untill its get bigger.
Is there anything else I should be weary off. (If this is a smart move at all)Im trying to avoid transplanting to avoid stress I might cause during the process.
Any help or ideas is greatly appreciated. I can always still transplant I am just trying to cancle out a few steps with a stealth cabinet.
Thanbks

You can start a plant in the size you plan to keep it in for it's whole life. The only reason people have smaller pots (there might be other reasons) is to save space. As far as watering I wouldnt give a young plant too much water, give it enough but just enough to make it search for more causing roots to grow more and faster.

kd u r right about the soil below getting too wet in larger pots. I personally would start out in small pots and look to transplant no more than twice and once pref. Transplanting isnt that much 'stress' if u do it correctly and there is less chance of u getting root rot or such that way. I start with pots about 10cm across and roughly the same deep and -depending on circumstances- i like to pot them up into 25cm pots before i put them on 12-12. but thats just me.

I am planning on growing fairly small plants. around 4 to 5 weeks growing then switch 12/12
Im hoping to get away withpots about 6In by 6Inch. Im pretty sure thats about half gallon or mabe one gallon. Is this a sufficent size pot for plants around 2 feet tall when done flowering?
If I was to use a smaller pot to start at what point should I switch my plant to my bigger pot? 5 to 6 nodes? 3 weeks growth?
any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks

KD, vegging a plant for 4-5 weeks is going to leave you in the end with a much taller plant then 2 feet unless you tie it down or top it and make it bushy. Plants tend to grow twice to three times as much in their 8-9 week flowering stage.

Ohh shit,, I better think about flowering soon Or tieing my sukers down... I thought they might double in size but i wasn't exactly sure how big they will be in the end. Ok I will be tieing my plants down then a little.
Any advice on the Pot size? for a 2 foot plant? tied down?
My plant right now is 8inches I guess I should tie it down or flower it or top it. Topping might be cool to try then when i flower it I can re veg it for some clones. It has 5 nodes so I think im ok for topping. I think ill try tieing it down as its my first grow. Don't want to get to crazy... and hax a plant

well i have 2 plants that r 2ft(day 43 of flowering), and after 6wks of veg....but i have them in a 6" in diameter pot(like u said bout 1/2 gal) which i dont believe is no where enough.....my plants would have grown bigger but the pots r 2 small and the roots are all bound at the bottom of the pot, stopping its growth...so u could jus keep them in that 1/2 gal pot if ud like but id say atleast a gal....check my grow log(a few threads down) and u can get an idea of how they will look.....what kind of lights r u usin? im only usin 2 40w floro's...good luck brah...

Cool that would be awsome. Do you think you could link me to your Grow Log, or is there a simple way to search for a specific users grow log?
I am using a T5 2ft tray light with 4 bulbs 2000 lummes each. Yeah bmaybe I will look into bigger pots. I dont want roots with no where to go stopping Buds.

My tip for you is :
Plan it out so you dont have to transplant much..
I would start in a reasonable sized pot, so you only need to transplant it once, over to a bigger pot (1gollon) just, dont, transplant during flowering.. i had bad experience doing that...
