"Atom Heart Mother" and "Meddle" are my favorites to listen to stoned and un-stoned. Listen to the song "Echoes" while stoned...there is some scary shit in it.

The live portion of Ummagumma is probably my favorite Floyd to get stoned to. Classic stuff from their psychedelic stage. Music they were playing specifically to trip people out. :thumbsup:

Check out the Live at Pompei dvd. More classic Floyd. Just them performing at the ruins of Pompei. Good stuff.

Syd Barrett is real good, but post-Barrett Floyd is a little monotonous. They lack a real good songwriter, try playing a Pink Floyd album on just acoustic guitar, it sucks (unless somebody has a vacuum cleaner they can turn on during Welcome To The Machine, at about six minutes and forty seconds).


People like Alan Parsons deserve a lot of credit for bringing Floydâ??s music to the level it got. Floyd was more production and arrangement then songwriting, thereâ??s nothing wrong with this, its just the way it is.

My Favorite Floyd Album is Meddle. Check out Meddle if you dont have it. Fearless, One of these Days, and Echoes are classics.

Animals is my other favorite album, and not just cause its less popular than WYWH and the Wall.

Darkside is my third favorite album and WYWH is my 4th.

Pink Floyd rules. Syd Barret is the man. Check out Ummagumma if you want to know how crazy he went. Ummagumma also came with a kick ass Pink Floyd Poster.

One of the things I like about Pink Floyd is the Bands staying power...I was 14 in 1972 when I first heard Dark Side Of the Moon,Sat there for the whole 45 min stunned, then asked my friend who had the album "could you play that again"
here it is 2006 and people react the same way apon hearing Dark Side for the first time...Lets see if Fiddy Cent or ICP or some such can do this in 2041
No other band becides Led Zepplin or AC/DC has this Magic,no not even the Grateful Dead either:thumbsup:
