"The designation of drugs in classes A, B and C should be replaced with one more closely reflecting the harm they cause, a committee of MPs has said."

I'm very interested. I'm sorry I didn't see this earlier. I'll be following this, and if you can find anything else, that would be really cool.
Baby steps. Baby steps.

Would be interesting to see how they qualify "harm". Because sorry, GHB that low? No way. Ecstacy even lower? No way again. Ecstacy in itself, if taken every 3-6 months in small quantities is not harmful, but that just is not reality - and the way 90% do actually take it, large quantities every couple of weeks, is extremely harmful. Believe me, I know. GHB - is often called "liquid ecstacy" in Europe, many times fatal when overdosing or in combination with alcohol.
As for cannabis - I believe that it can be psychologically addictive, but there is imho no real physical harm.
As for alcohol - I never had any doubt whatsoever that it is way more harmful than other drugs - but again only when taken in large quantities and regularly. Somehow, the chance of actually getting hooked on alcohol are far slimmer than on i.e. XTC.
I find it difficult to weigh the different risks against each other. A book very much worth reading: High Society. It raises an intrigueing question - what happens if all drugs are legalized and heavily taxed, as alcohol and tobacco are?

I think this helps to highlight to people who don't smoke cannabis but drink alcohol. My dad drinks but when I try to persuade him that cannabis should be legal he comes out with stuff like.. "it makes you paranoid!". I think he has been reading too many tabloids. I don't read newspapers and I don't have a TV. I just listen to music.. draw .. and read sites on the net that interest me.. like cannabis.com! I question everything I've ever been taught and every belief I have. I used to believe that cannabis made you stupid and lazy because that is what "the man" said was the case. Then I met this stoner. He smoked more in a day that I smoked in a month. He was very articulate and highly motivated. I asked how he could do all he did while smoking so much pot. he said "nothing exists unless you make it real with your mind". peace love

...short term memory loss...
Some people would say that you have not "lost" anything. You may just have become amnesic to the information. You have been distracted by another thought and the whole memory is there in somewhere in your mind. All you have to do is ask. Like when thinking of someones name .. it's on the tip of your tongue and it becomes annoying. Then later in the day...WHAM!!!!! the name jumps out. As I say.. some people believe.. have fun!

but you must also think that, if its not found then it must be lost, for something cannot be partially found, or partially lost

I couldn't have put it better myself. I was just in the shower and this thought actually crossed my mind. I don't claim to have all the answers. Or even one answer. Just ideas that others can make their own understandings from.
love you
