Sup; Sup,
Well, this is my first cabinet ā?? I didnā??t have a very large area to grow in so I just built this straight up. It is around 1 and ½ feet deep - and 4 feet high. Both the top (utility room), and bottom doors are really made out of the left over pieces from the guts of this set. The inside has been painted flat white with two vents; one intro one exit. I can take the temp to a low of 70, with a high of 80. It is powered by 435 watts of American brand CFLā??s that are set by two twenty four hour timers.
I have only started with one plant as a test, and at a little over a month (give or take) Iā??m not all too happy with my results; note that my plant did not start under all this light this has been a work in progress. It has been a nice experiment, but I think I will have to rebuild for lack of space.
Please gawk and laugh at my pathetic photos.

Ok, here are a few forgotten details that were lost in my last post. First photo is a better view of my upper door, the second photo I just thought cool (lol). There are a couple extra starters in there now, and I can see the difference when they start under a decent amount of light.
Iā??m wondering about flowering; I have read a lot of posts about this but Iā??m still not sure what kind of cfl to buy. Iā??m guessing that whatever is going to put off a lot more heat than my current set up, and I think I have that covered, but as for the other I could use a link to a site if anyone is capable.
Thanks

Killsport,
Could that be light-tight? Also, did you try making a rack system
with your lights?

Yes, with the aide of a lot of tape (lol duct it) it is light tight. I know that is kind of Fā??d up, but the good news is that today while driving I found a nice portable closet around two and a half feet deep and six feet tall. Of course I bought it, and get this it was only 10 dollars American (still had the factory stickers slapped all over it). The box is surprisingly sturdy, and seemingly light tight on its own. I do not like the tin foil, heat blankets, or really the flat white. Iā??m trying to find a good product (such as the expensive ā??Mā?) to cover the inside with.
As for the rack, well Iā??m thinking of buying a more professional set up like a 400 watt HPS or something. Maybe Iā??ll build a 24 hour box with my CFLs.

Thank you Djsethall; I know that anything I put in this cabinet sure loves it. Wouldnā??t it be kewl if this turned out to be a lovely lady and I could just start my new cabinet with a clone set up?:stoned:

Well, I had a few new photos to post; I do not know if anyone is really looking at them or not (lol). I think that every thing is going well so far. I cannot say that I have any real complaints. I see no mold, bugs, or any other problems ATM. I am still working on my new box; I am going to scrap this model and just break down and purchase another secondary cab to go with the one I spoke of in another post (this one make the room look like sh*t).

I may receive the ā??stupid question award,ā? but Iā??ll ask anyway. What about pruning or trimming? What do I look for when I make a cut, or is there any specific limbs that need to be cut? I noticed that the first branches have never really split and are bulky; should they be removed? I am not speaking of damaged or bug bitten foliage, I havenā??t had the problem (knock on wood).
Thank you in advance.

There have been a few changes made; due to a lack of space I placed the lights upon the left and right sides of the cab. The leaves were growing into the lights and getting squashed by the door. I also added a new light bringing me up to 490 watts.

Well, today I realized that my comment was kinda crappy sorry about that. On the other hand I took the lid off the tub and lowered ā??herā? today, I want to clone her, but I have never done anything like that. Plus I donā??t want to hurt her, baby her; yes, hurt; no.:smokin:

Ok I have been told that in the flowering stage (or any other) if one uses the ā??Miracle Growā? (sp) tomato flowering food that it will give the end product a foul taste. Is this a myth, and if so what should I use?

Ok I am not getting very clear pictures of my white haired buds, but I have another question. Please remember this is my first time growing anything. Ok, some of my leaves on the bottom of my plant are turning yellow, does this mean that baby girl is dieing?
