First Grow - Lowryder germination + potting question

Hello all. Love the forum - its been a great help as I venture into my first proper attempt at growing.

I have just received my first Lowryder seeds ready to plant. I'm wondering what you would consider the safest way to germinate (ie damp paper towel in a warm dark room) or another way? I see some people are using "peat blocks" or something similar to grow the germinated seed. Can I get away with just a pot filled with good soil (ie Bio Buzz which I have some of) and then popping the germinated seed straight in there?

I already have some "Skunk No 1" plants that I potted a few weeks ago (see pic) - these are in a VERY small cupboard (containing our heating boiler also!). They appear to be growing well although being my first attempt I'm not really sure what is healthy and what isn't just yet

Have attached a pic for any comments which I would really appreciate.

i do the brown office paper towel moist in a ziploc, kept by the heater covered in a black bandana method lol.. and yea u can plop the seed into the soil when it germinates.. make sure the soil has no nutes.. the roots arent developed for that kinda stuff.. just like givin a baby crack.. looks like a good start.. what kind of light is that?? u might want to ad some reflective material to the walling, maximize the light gain of ur plants..

Hi Sheist thanks for the advice re germination. I'll get some reflective material to line the wall (just using tin foil and some BBQ trays at the moment!).

I'm using a single "Envirolite" 125w 6400K suitable (according to my friendly local hydroponics shop) for the vegetative stage. Apparently I could hook up another one for the flowering stage (different colour spectrum?).

Am wondering whether I should get another light in the cupboard as from what I have read its "the more light the better"?

Forgot to mention that the oldest plant (just repotted in 10L pot) is 16 days old from germination. Its about 4.5 inches tall. Am leaving the light on 24/7 at the moment.

YEAH THATS RIGHT I USE ENVIROLITES I USE THE 200W ONES AND THEY WORK NICE
BLUE SPEC FOR VEGGING AND
RED SPEC FOR FLOWERING

I just recently germinated some lowryder seeds and i got 11/12 to germinate.
I used the wet paper towel method. Get a paper towel about 1 metre long. Fold it 4 times (total of 16 layers). Then get some bottled water. Pour that into a bowel or something equivalant. Soak up the paper towel (should only take a couple of seconds). Then pick up the paper and hold it over the bowl till it stops dripping. Once it no longer drips, put your seeds in the centerfold.
I used this method and after one day none of my seeds had roots past 1 cm long. 24 hrs later, i had one seed with a 3 inch long stem. So, basically after the first day, make sure you keep on checking your seedlings because you don't want them to be over 1 1/2 inches long
