My stelth box

i was reading hightimes 06.2006 and saw them selling seed/clone boxes made like a computer case. (light bulb....DING) I HAD A IDEA. So i took a old case i had, put a old 24" 30w gro-lux tube i had in it, used the case fans that were in there (turned one around for intake) and boom, i had my box. i havent covered all the light leaks in the back yet, but im still working..

starts seedlings great and keeps it cool @ 78-82'F

anyone have advice on it?

I believe I may do the same ... my only advice is to take the power supply and put it outside the box, if you're using a power supply that is.

issint it kinda small for a plant?i mean i'm thinking of growing...this might be a good idea...

seriously, that's a sweet idea for one plant. maybe two if you have a big enough case.

I suggest taking out the brackets for the power supply/drives, gives you more room to grow. Maybe one or the other. Seems like a good idea though, great way to put old compys to use.

well i appreciate all the comments, i have no p. supply/drives in it, its just the case housing that you'll see. and it is small (esp. with a lamp 5" too long), but like i said its just my seedling/clone tray, then they get moved into the room.....

and im still workin on it, so ill have more pics, plus i might make it a CFL box instead of a tube box

would it be possible to do a complete grow in a computer case? I mean ... if you only had one plant and it was a mineature of somekind? I don't know anyhting about growing yet, but i'm starting to look into it.

i have seen a thread(not here) of a computer case grow start to finish, he used a 100watt( or 70watt) hps bulb with a single pc fan, he used the scrog method and everything looked awsome at the end he had just over a OZ of herb so it can be done just dont expect a huge result

Wow I never thought about growing from a computer case and I have 2 of them!! I guess I can start growing very soon. This would be my first time growing. Since this would be my first time growing, I was planning on growing the LowRyder strain just to see what would happen and experiment. The LowRyder is very small so it is perfect for small places or for that extra privacy in small public places like state parks. It autoflowers and it usually grows in about 2 months from seed to bud!

The big drawback is the yield which is about 1/4 oz or a little bit more and it is not the most potent, but based on other reports, had a good potency on par with some top strains so that is debatable. But still, I would be very happy with even a 1/4 oz from a small plant because thats $90 I don't have to pay!

I think I am going to investigate and do some measurements first thing Monday afternoon!! I will probably use a 125w SATURN grow bulb for my plant.

However, I am going to scout for some areas when it gets warmer to experience my first outdoor grow.

hehe good luck man, hope it works out for you, i am planning a 3 plant grow outside but still in a growroom lol got a thread here somwhere.
But now this has actually inspired me to do something now, lol cos i can tell my parents i got a new case lol, hide the old case behind the computer cabinet and grow in the new case, LMAO!! :P

than when i set up the outside thing i will have at least a couple of plants half way though veg :D
