Having never smoked out on a bong before i was wondering besides water could you use other liquids. Such as kool aid or fruit juices would that change the taste of the smoke or does it not matter in the end any way.

Ive tried a bunch of stuff and you really cant tell the difference in taste. The best thing to use is ice and water ... smoke is like ice cold and doesnt burn at all.

Uh just to add a lil somethin ice in your bong water is supposed to cause pleurism (or somethin) but basically its water in your lungs and is really bad so lets hold off on the ice and just have some cold water. Or not. I will though.:rasta:

That is absurd!
Pleurism is caused by a problem with the lungs, it's a virus or bacterium, one of the two. Either way, it's not caused by inhaling bits of water. Besides, don't you think those native to rain forests might die by the hundreds if inhaling air slightly more humid than usual was bad for their lungs? If anything, it's good!

 what you're referring to is a condition called pleurisy (or pleuritis)

It's not caused by fluid in the lungs, rather fluid in the lungs is a symptom of an underlying problem. Viral infections are usually the most common cause of pleurisy. Other diseases that can cause pleurisy are lung infections, such as pneumonia and tuberculosis.

But in short, cooling down the water with ice is not going to hurt you. Keep in mind that THC is alcohol and fat soluble, so don't fill your bong with vodka, beer, or melted butter.
