Im not normally a person who is offended my material on the internet mainly because I just know better , but there is a thread in the spirituality forum that actually offends me.

"Way to prove christianity wrong"

http://boards.cannabis.com/showthread.php?p=887737#post887737

I already posted in there and gave my 2 cents but I dont beleive that is enough in this case. I admire that you keep a spirituality forum around but I am curious as to weither or not you have trouble with it. I could see it becoming a place of disrespect really easily.

In my beliefs you should never attack someones religion or beliefs EVER! I think this is highly offensive, more so than any slanderous remarks. Sometimes belief in something like religion is all people have and they cherish it. Making a thread out to prove Christianity is false is horrible IMO. First off I can see it getting rowdy and out of hand, but what offends me most is the blatent disregard for others religous beliefs. All of us here love marijuana(hopefully) and are persecuted for it (in the US) we need to be working together not bringing each other down.

Im sorry to be stirring up this kind of thing right off the bat, you will see that this normally doesnt happen, but i just had to say something incase nobody has yet. I respect all of you so far and I would like to keep it that way....

Thanks :)

Nice to meet you..and thank you for making this thread..it is SUPPOSED to be respectful. I never knew so much about non-believers until I started posting in Spirituality here..I give respect to those that give it..no matter their beliefs & yes it gets "tiresome" to see threads like that. Thank You again for saying what you have in support of our beliefs..very nice.

Still haven't figured out why some seem intent on destroying that forum..seem to derive pleasure from it..maybe someone will tell me why non-believers even post in Spirituality? Once again..nice seeing your post.:)

Because we have opinions on the kinds of issues that are discussed there too. I find religion to be a fascinating phenomenon, and I enjoy participating in discussions and debates about it. It's not that I'm completely close-minded to the ideas of the religious; I've just yet to see any good evidence for anything supernatural, and I don't see why I should have to shut up about that when issues regarding the supernatural come up. If someone's ideas can't stand up to a little criticism, then they desperately need to re-examine their beliefs. That's how humanity approaches truth. I'm willing to admit I'm wrong; give me a good enough argument and I'll change my mind. But we have to be willing to discuss these things, look at everybody's opinion, and see whose ideas hold up in the end. If we automatically "protect" certain dogmas from any criticism, then what's the point of even talking about them? Just to praise them and talk about how wonderful they are? We need fruitful debate and uncensored expression of opinions if we want to weed out the true ideas from the false; encouraging blind faith and the taboo against criticizing dogma can only hinder our quest for knowledge.

I personally have opinions on everything. If I am given a chance to speak I will state my case as honestly as I do. I don't really care if what I utter hurts people in most instances, but I won't always respond especially if I know my opinion is 100% diametrically opposing someone elses and we are both possionate about what we feel is right. So long as I am speaking my truth and not intentionally winding someone up with hot air, they can take it as they like. Everyone has the right to say what they like, it is up to the listener what they wish to do with it.

Spirituality, practices, rituals, etc. Please respect others when discussing religion - thank you.

Checked out the thread and in all actuallity, the thread starter was pretty easy for one to pick apart. If your in a discussion concerning, lets say the Baptist faith, and someone keeps jumping in spouting garbage.....THAT would be a different story.

Maybe on this one you might be able to "shed some light"?:D

Have a good one!

I have no idea what to think or what to believe except for the fact that when i was in high school grade 9-11 they taught us about the beggining of the earth the scientifically known way... stars and shit... molecules.. primodial soup.. blah blah blah... lucy the fuckin ape.... evolution .. EVOLUTION.. all that shit just became more believable to me than a religion ( Catholic ) that i only knew when i was kid, and havent payed much attention to in the last few years..and we moved and just didnt go to church.. too busy.
