Anyone else getting their new CD today? I don't even know the name of it, but I know I'm getting it. :p

I saw them on July.11 and it was a fucking warzone.

Maybe too heavy for the young crowd here, who knows, but I'm going to get it and bite the tits off a cow! Hahaha!

It was supose to have been realesed on 6/6/06 but no Slayer album
at the store when I went to pick one up. I saw them in Ohio in 98.
The new album is called Christ Illusion by the way.

I saw them at download festival 2005... along with SOAD and Slipknot..

I mean they had some massive mosh pits before they even started playing... they rule.

The whole thing i find with bands like Slayer, Slipknot mainly and mnemic is the live atmosphere.

Thats what my band did, created an atmosphere. [a good one lol]

I like both their older stuff and their newer stuff equally.

Their old stuff like Reign in Blood is sooooo thrash and fast, but I find after 3 or 4 songs of that, it all sounds the same and I get bored. Their new stuff though is still ballsy heavy and fast, at times., but they do a lot of breakdowns now and they're def. not as fast as they used to be.

But hey, I know I'd be bored with them if all they did was play thrash still. I like it fast, then "break-your-neck" heavy. I like the old and new Slayer.

Seems ironic, their last album "God Hates Us All" was released on 9/11...creepy.

Children of bodom is great, listen to them definately if you like slayer.

eya nochowderforyou i know what you mean.. i definitly prefer their new stuff cuz theyve got more rythm and beat to it. ive never been a huge fan of their early stuff. if you want to hear slayer at their best, buy the album "diabolus in musica" or just download the song "love to hate"

Yup, I see his face all over the place right now in metal/music mags.. At first I was like, what a dumb name for a band, then they played, and it didn't seem so dumb anymore. :p

I love slayer, All their cds are awsome imo...from the beginning to this cd.

I got 3 songs off their newest cd sent to me a couple of weeks ago...I didn't realise there were so many people into slayer here!

Im pretty sure if you search on a bittorrent site you could download them by now...i think it's just the promo cd that is out at the moment

I dunno about the new stuff though...I think they were best doing stuff like 'Seasons the Abyss'.

I think they should stay away from songs about religion too. Ive read that at least one member is a Christian, so it's obviously being shocking for the sake of it. I dont dig it!

I don't think any of them are religious. I can't see it happening! Kerry King is one angry motherfucker, so is Jeff. Tom seems cool, but with a mind like his to write lyrics like he has/does, no one can fake those thoughts.

The only one I think could be is the constant switching of drummers.

They can't just change to not singing anti-religion songs. That's what they're about. The sepration of church and state, anti-authority, anti-religion. If that is all a joke, then yes, I would NOT dig it either.

I don't like actors in a musical sense, so I hope to hell you're kidding. :p

Kerry King was an asshole to me when I met him by the way. I was wearing a slayer shirt, only a kid and he didnt even look at me. It was at a signing in London.

Tom and Jeff shook my hand, it was when Dave just got back with them and he wasnt with them.

But yeah, my brother was behind me (he hates slayer, he was only going up with another one of my CDs to get it signed for me!) and he was wearing an Offspring t shirt and Kerry had a full blown conversation with him about how great Sum41 and the Offspring are! What a fag! haha

I read it in this months issue if Guitar World Magazine. It has Kerry and Jeff, with Zakk Wylde on the front. Go check it out. It's an awesome issue.

No Dimegan though, and I know if he was still around, he'd be on the cover with them.

Yes, it was one of the best shows I've seen. Loud as fucking hell, fire, and energy like I've never seen before.

I love the new Slayer album. Cult is def. one of fav. tracks on there too, but I really like Flesh Storm, the opening track. It's so Reign In Blood era sounding. They did yet another good job with staying true to their music. I am not dissapointed. :thumbsup:

I am a HUGE metal fan, I listen to everything from black, death, progressive, power, classic, but I don't like Slayer. (Though I'm not too big of a thrash fan, soo..). Right now my favorites are ensiferum, finntroll, blut aus nord, nightwish, bathory, judas priest, testament, and opeth, but I also like stuff like AFI's older stuff, blue oyster cult, and queens of the stone age. But slayer just doesnt do it for me :/

Yes, I agree, some of the fans are quite out there, but it's their thing. Slayer fans are original, and when I saw them on their GHUA tour in 2001, the fans were crazier than any fans I have ever seen. You don't see energy like you do at a Slayer show, the fans, the pits, everything!

I like them because they have stayed true to their music and haven't sold out, but, we all like different things, right. Like me, I can't stand Black Metal. I can make better music through my armpits. ;) Just playing. :)

I don't have shut your mouth, open your eyes, but I love black sails, and actually Art of Drowning is pretty good too. Sing the Sorrow has a few good songs but I don't like the new album.. I'll have to check out the stuff even before black sails ;)

Slayer is ok....used to be my favorite band but its too fast and high pitched. I loved seasons in the abyss but I like pantera's sound better. I saw pantera at ozzfest...that was a sick mosh pit. It was like a hurricane with the calm eye and all.
