so, i'm unfamiliar with cloning and curious is this is possible:

buy seed, grow some females to bud and kill the males

take cutting of the females after bud has been collected and clone them? keep them as "house plants" (well sort of, very DISCREET, hidden "house plants" :) ) until ready to grow again, then use those cloned females (now clone mothers) to take cuttings to clone a new grow?

hope that made sense. is that reasonable or does one take cuttings to become clone mothers at a different time? of course it would be fine to take cuttings to become clones at any time during the life of the grow (from seeds).

thanks for helping the noob. i'm not growing yet, but i may when i move out to the pacific northwest in a couple months. trying to learn all i can

if i grow myself, and i do hope to, i won't be able to grow a lot at a time (closet or cabinet most likely) so i'd like to keep at least one clone mother around so rather than buying new seeds i can just make clones for the next grow, at least for a little while until i want to try a new strain. i'd probably be starting a new grow perhaps a few months after the first one ends. is a few months enough time to grow clone mothers to maturity so they can be cut for more clones?

thanks. and btw: trying to decide on strain for first grow. looking for a more "mellow" high if possible. need plants that won't grow too high, are relativley resilient (especially to temperature), of course have good yield. i don't want to spend a fortune but i intend to spend enough to get good quality lights, fans, smell-killers, and of course seeds. the more i think about it i think it would be better to grow in a big cabinet (wardrobe type thing) than a closet; perhaps more discreet. well, we'll see.

Your supposed to cut them before you flower and keep it as a mother for later.
So you grow them, sex them, clone them(Save the clone seperated from the rest in veg),then flower the rest.
Even the ones you cut the clones off of.
Flower them too.
Just make sure you have one good healthy female to keep in Veg.24/7 light,or 18/6.
Hope that helps.

You can clone from a flowering mother, but try to do it as early into flower as possible.
