my brother has a plant but he dosnt know how to make it bush out... my mom told me to pinch the top but i dunno if it would work since its almost a foot tall...

She's right. Pinch the terminal bud.

Just a touch of epsom salts, 1/4 teaspoon in a gallon of water, next time you water the plant, also encourages branching.

Never underestimate the wisdom of your mom, especially if she is an experienced gardener!!!

the terminal bud is the main bud or 'head' as most of us call it. Just slice the top of it off or pinch it wateva and it will form another 2 'heads' and will bush out a bit more instead of growing as tall.... I think..
