hmm
i wonder if a fruit dehydrator could dry a fresh bud with out damaging it too bad.
anyone else ever wonder this?

Dries too fast. Harsh taste. Be patient, hang to dry, when almost dry put in a paper bag for 1 week, then move to mason jars.

I haven't heard of the paper bag part ... but yes, do it the patient and slow way, you won't regret it.

Paper bag for letting the moisture in the center even out throughout the whole bud, without risking keeping it in an airtight place where it can still get moldy b/c it's not dry yet.
