I did all of mine myself. -completely steril using 12 gauge tri-beveled needles and everything- I wouldn't say it hurt so much as I got the most insane rush of adrenaline i've ever felt sitting down. It was intense.

I have some piercings, including a tongue ring, but I would never want anything to go wrong w/ my most favorite and treasured body part - not worth the risk!!!! (esp if you pierce it yourself and aren't a trained piercer--eek!)

But don't do that shit yourself. There's plenty of risks when you get them done professionally (decreasing in sensitivity, etc)- but doing them yourself is just... (sorry) stupid.
You're not going to get something completely sterile unless you've used an autoclave. I'm going to assume you don't have one of those lying around? Mate, of all places you don't want to get an infection... *shudders*

Dude, I did them myself like last year.... And to clarify, a P.A. is through the head -in through the urethra and out at the bottom of the glans- and a frenum is through the skin on the shaft. I used to have 3 frenums but now have 1.

No infection, perfect placement. I studied piercings for about 3 months before I went ahead and did them.
