I just picked up some diatomaceous earth for my pest (whitefly) problem. I searched all day for pest strips but no luck anywhere after 4 hours of searching walmart, H-depot and many others.

I asked the pharmacist i picked this diatomaceous earth off and told her it was for marijuana plants, and she said that it would be perfect for the marijuana, and it was ok to put it right on and around the plants

but she also said I could put boiling water in the soil to kill the pests. Has anyone heard of this? Does it work or will it kill the plants?

I'm gunna just use the earth for now because I know it's 100% safe on plants since it isn't toxic and has neutral PH.

But will anyone inform me on the boiling water?

Maybe she just was anti-weed and wanted me to kill my weed plants?

Yup. No hot water. Water should be at room temperature.

Soil temp should range from 65 to 75 hydro should be 60 to 75. Boiling water will fry the kids. I noticed a lot of you cats get your supplies from walmart your best bet is a hydro or graden shop. I use home depot for organic sprays and trimming supplies cause they have it a lot cheaper. But a garden or hydro shop personal should have a greater range of knowledge than most pharmicist and retail sales personal. Good luck!!
