alright i have 14 plants on a 3x3 tray. i have them under a 400hps light i just started the 12/12 yesterday. 3 days ago i had transplanted them from a closet setup to this 3x3 in side a mini hydro hut. in my small closet i had no problem matian humidity at 54% but in my mini hydro hut it flucuates from 68% to 62% i have a used squerile cage in the coner sucking up heat from the buld i tired buting another exuaste a little over the light blowing the air throw a small hole (it is suppose to be used for cords but i riged a duct hose to hold it so most will blow threw the small hole) i also tried hooking up an intake fan to see if more air would help both with just the squerle and the extra exuaste. i also have a oscilating fan hanging in a corner. i run my light at night and dark durning the day. my night tempetures are hotter them my day is this bad? i am going 1 cherry ak47 1 super kush and 12 master kush plants. im am also having some nute problems i have a few picture and will take more tonight after the lights turn back on. the 3 pictures of the outside are of the possible intake, a jimmy rigged exuaste that you cant see to well also of my squerile cage hoseing leading to a window and last of the hole wher my power cord goes in i attached 2 pictures of the 2 master kush plants that have 1 leave each looking crappy. also my grow box gets hotter inside in the dark then the tempature outside my house is in the day any one have any idea i need help and it seems to me lots of it
thanks

howz it going! first off, you have a good setup there with the light exhaust venting and the tray size. I will compliment you on the hydro tent and also the health of your seedlings thus far. They are looking healthy but also needing a few additional things for the future. It sounds like you have a good general understanding of the basics but let me give you some tips / opinions.
First, you mentioned that you have a 3x3 tray for all your plants in hydro. This ok, but for the number of plants you are trying to grow it is not. You didn't really mention how much vertical space you have to work with so with that in mind, I am going to assume you have enough for them to get to a relatively good size.
You have too many plants to produce a good size yield for a 400W hps light. I made the same mistake recently too in a 2'x4' tray by having 10 plants. You said you are trying to go for 14 plants and this is too much. If you want to produce higher yields, grow fewer plants so that they can take up more nutrients and also have more light. Less plants that are bigger will produce more yield than more plants that are smaller. I would recommend something like 6-8 for your setup.
You have the right conditions, just let your plants have the highest chance for survival and also big yield where ever possible. Your humidity issue is not a problem. In veg state anything over 90% is a problem. Until then you can stay in your 70%-80% range without any worries. Also, you never made mention of your temps in your room but you did state that they were of concern to you. The same goes with temperature, you can push it to about 85F or 90F but past that is again, trouble.
The other problem I see which is a big problem is the fact that it doesn't appear that you have your plants in individual containers. This is going to be a huge problem when they begin to flower or even when they begin to grow large during the veg state. What will happen is the roots will grow into one another causing a competition for nutrients and also causing them to tangle up inside the medium.
For your setup I recommend immediately:
1. place your pots individually into small to medium sized mesh pots that allow the water to come in on all sides and make sure the holes are big enough for roots to grow out of.
2. remove the tin foil from the rockwool of your plants. Tin foil (especially crinkled) will cause hot spots of light on your fan leaves. Not only that, but the undersides of your leaves do not need light as they do not photosynthesize. Additionally, if you are trying it to keep the light from hitting the roots, I wouldn't worry about that either since the hydroton does a pretty good job at that.
3. Kill off some plants. I recommend weeding (no pun) out the smallest and least healthiest of all of them. Again, do not hinder your veg growth for the sake of having more plants. Let the healthy ones that ARE there get bigger than they could have before they had the space around them. Take a look at my setup and see that growing too many under a 400W light is not necessarily better than growing the right amount. We have 8 now and plan on going with 4-5 for the next grow with hopefully higher yields.
Hope all this helped.

if growing from seed 4 females may be ideal for a 400 but even then it could easily become to overcrowded if you vegged them very long looks like some of your plants may be showing sex soon and maybe you can remove alot then.
when using seed you do not have much of a choice when using clones you can usually get the best yield by flowering more plants and keeping them small like using just rooted clones will keep the canopy more even and the 400would be able to more efficiently light each plant and your yield would be better than a using a few larger plants.

Hi everybody I have a hydro hut and I been growing in it for about 10 months now. when you get a chance buy a intake fan and use the bottom intake hole at bottom left of the hut buy doing that you will bring in more fresh air. Try place ing fans in your room to that helps alot buy droping your rooms humidity you also drop your tents humidity and try to cover up your whole grow tray buy doing this you can slow the evaporation of your water that gets in the air.:rasta: :pimp:
Heres my setup

you didnt mention what type of system you have, i notice its a tray full of hydroton but what is your method of watering? you do realize if your roots are in the hydroton alone not sitting in some sort of res they become dehydrated very quickly, i have my girls in 2gal pots in a ebb and flow with just hydroton but i have to water every half hour or they start to droop, hydroton is the best in aeration bar none, but you gotta keep them girls hydrated, also another tip is keep the ambient temptures around the hut low and you shouldnt have a heat issue inside, you have your exhaust down tight, just make sure its cool air your sucking in, other than that deftdrummer hit it right on the head, good luck
oh yeah how much hydroton did you waste?, that stuff can get pricy
