Okay. My husband found this recipe, and is now addicted. It is so greasy and sweet and good, a stoner HAD to come up with it! Sounds gross, but it is surprisingly heavenly. Give it a whirl.

3/4 c ice cold water (cold water is important to keep the batter right)
1 c buttermilk pancake mix (you can finetune that by a few tablespoons either way as you experiment)
oreos - about 1 sleeve (chocolate stuffed oreos work real well)
powdered sugar (also called confectioners sugar and icing sugar)
grease

Freeze oreos for 3 hours. Mix batter. Coat oreos. Fry at 350 for about 3 min, or until golden brown. Drain on papertowel and sprinkle with powdered sugar.(You should have a golden piece of fried dough with a soft oreo inside. Might take a few times to get it right. I cooked one at a time when I started to help me see how to do it right)

* The batter should be a little thick, so the cookie stays covered. It will look like a doughnut or fried dough when frying, when it is right.

Hope someone tries it. It is soooo good, but you can only eat two or so, as it is so rich and sweet. You can also use chocolate chip cookies, or any other cookie you want. People also substitute candy bar, esp snickers (remember that noosa?! :D ), and twinkies, for oreos. Enjoy!! :p

ironic story about deep fried desserts. in our town we have a fund raiser walkathon thingy for heart attack victims and last year there was a booth selling deep fried twinkies

yeh these things are good. Fried chicken place down the block sells em, sooo good but i can only eat a few, sweets make me sick very quickly, on top of the fact my teeth suck so they start to hurt eventually too. That is a great stoner munchy stop if ya think about it, fried chicken and fried oreos for after yumm

YES YES YES!! I'll try almost anything deep fried at least once. The oreos we did back in highschool (in the dark ages lol) But the pickles...well, the fried pickles are kickin! I was totally surprised at how good they were. I've had em 3 times so far and I'll have em again too. :)
We've also done the twinkies, kit kats, milkey ways, mars bars, bananas, ice cream...whatever we have lying around. lol
We have a deep fryer and a few times a year we go wild and piggggggg out.

I don't like the inside of the oreos, so if that was scooped out first, then maybe. Never had any of the deep fried stuff out there, like twinkies and candy bars.

I had a friend that use to stuff those little breakfast sausages in twinkies and take 'em to parties. That was just wrong tho lol.

Oh wow, I when I was in high school, we had this thing called indoor drumline. We had a competition in Nashville and one of their specialty concession stands had fried oreos. They tasted so good, except they were pretty rich, I couldn't handle all the sugar, heh.

I save time and just shove the cookies directly into my arteries to clog 'em up, why waste all that time deep frying.

Just kidding. they sound real good, but I'm middle aged now and can't handle all those chemicals and fats.

At the State Fair of Texas they had deep-fried coca-cola. What they did was make a funnel-cake type batter with coca-cola for the liquid, then fry it and pour coke syrup over it. I never tried one, but everyone said it was delicious.

man i love to cook, and that is almost the same as my recipe for fried oreos. the only difference is that instead of water for the batter i use 7-up. it gives it that airy batter like a beer batter

How about deep frying a bar of crisco, you probably could shave about 10 years off your life by eating one of those. You southerners are gross with your fried stuff, just reading about it is making me queasy...
