Ok, I need you guys to tell me honestly (I can take criticism, as long as it's productive, so seriously, be truthful) if I'm over reacting here in this situation I'm about to describe. This may get long, so here is your warning up front.

Ok, I love the group Thievery Corporation (a trip-hop/lounge duo from DC for those not in the know, look 'em up, they're damn good and I'm sure you'll love them). They are playing in SF tonight (the 20th). Myself and two friends bought tickets to the show about 3 months ago, as, like me, they (or at least so they say) are also equally in love with Thievery Corp. Now, all three of us go to UCSC, and we bought the tix during the school year. However, I live up here in NorCal (I split my time between Santa Cruz and Oakland, and I'm in Santa Cruz right now). My friends live down in Ojai, just south of Santa Barbara for those who don't know the area. They were supposed to drive up from Ojai today, pick me up here in SC, and then we would continue on to the show in SF, then crash at my house in Oakland.

Now, last night (the 19th), at about 11, one of them called me and said they weren't coming. He said that both of them were burnt out on driving long distances, and couldn't afford the gas. I offered to throw in some $ for gas, but they still refused, and I ended the call because I could tell it might lead to an argument, as I was, and still am pissed. I've been waiting 3 months to see this show, and while I wouldn't be that bummed if I still had another way of getting to the show, the thing is I don't, and to put it bluntly, I feel betrayed. I dropped $45 on my ticket, plus another $35 acquiring various substances for the night, on top of being psyched for 3 months.

I know, that in the scheme of things, not going to a concert is small potatoes, but I'm still mightily pissed over this. I actually ended up punching the wall after the call (no damage to the wall, fortunately, my hand though...)

Here is my question, what step should I take next. Is this something legitimate to be pissed at a friend over? What would you guys do in this situation? Reconsider the friendship? Just move on? Something else?

if they do this all the time just dont count on them.......if they're late or something just leave cause thats all you can do with unreliable people really
