I actually just got back from a punk show. If anyone here knows who Minor Threat is, they most likely also know who the Gorilla Biscuits are. There a Straight edge Hardcore punk band.... i just saw them, they headlined.

It was a great show. Some guy who stagedived hit me in the nose and i got a bloody nose but it was a great show.

lol, touche. I guess it does make more sense to call them punk rather than catagorize them with some innovative genre, like calling them post-hardcore math rock. But you make a good point about the endless sub-genres where the bands sound basically the same. (not in all of them, but most!) I believe it's attributed to generic labeling of every band, calling them "indie" without deriving their influences. Everyone wants to be different, but it's not always the case!
