My first grow

hey all, im new to this a lil, my first thread, but i do have these sexy plants that have been growing for 5 weeks now, i water them with mirical grow a few times a month and just water them normally like every other day or so. lemme know what you think and if u have any tips or anything im all ears.

Where are u growing these on a roof? they look pretty healthy but how old are they?

yeah they're in a pit on my roof where like 3 corners come together so it gets sun from sunrise to sun set, the weather here has been clear hot and sunny all day for a while, but they just got some rain tonight and ill get some pics in a min, as of today, July 21, they have been growing for exactly 5 weeks, are they looking good for being 5 weeks?

when should i start using nutes? its been five weeks of just water and water/mircal grow plant food. they're in pots with nice soil, how long with that soil feed the plants for? Do I need to re-plant them into new pots with new soil?

Miracle grow IS nutes. And you probably started too early with them. And you probably also shouldn't have used them ... seeeeee the yellow at the bottom? I'd say it's to blame.

He is saying that your Miracle Grow nutes are no good. The general concensus is...don't use Miracle Grow!

For veg you want to go look for somea bit higher in nitrogen, and a bit lower in everything else. When it comes time to flower you'll want something higher in Phosphorus and a bit lower in the rest. Another thing to take into consideration is micronutrients...

If it exists, go find a good fertilizer with high N, lower P and K, and as many micronutrients as you can find. Your best bet would be to probably get some organic fert if you can.

But as far as your yellowing goes, FLUSH your plants with more water than normal and start using your new ferts you get at 1/4 strength.

you have to wait for them to show signs of sex it takes longer for some plants to show sex than others. if you dont stress out the plant then you will grow good sh*t, just because you have a good straing doesnt mean that your weed will be good your plant needs good care to grow bomb ass buds.

QUESTION!!!:

How can i fix the plants so that they just grow straight up instead of leaning off to one side? a dowel stick? Can I just poke it right through the soil next to the stalk? Would that cut threw some roots? :confused:

UPDATE:

My plants are now 55 days old, im watering them everyday about, they're soaking up a lot of water and sun! :D They're starting to straighten out a lil,

I still don't know weither or not they're male or female yet :confused:

A FEW QUESTIONS:

1. What stage of growing am I in after 55 days and still now sign of sex?

2. Should I start using anything other then water and normal soil with my grow?

3. How am I doin'?

not bad for your first grow. But for getting full sun like that they should be alot bigger. Your overwatering, and pots are too small though. A good rule of thumb is one gallon per one foot of verticle growth. Best of Luck, stay safe. By the way, your spot is easy prey for helicopters! But if they aren't a problem in your area, great hiding spot!

alright so i went to steins and got some potting soil, cleared out a lil space for each plant and prepared the soil for them. Im still not using any ferts or nutes, can someone please help me out with what i should feed my plants? ill post pics in a lil bit

well i would say theyre being overwatered (the droopy leaves) and also i'd say they are alittle unhealthy (yellow bottom leaves). But there is a quick fix, get a bottle of superthrive (7.98 at wal-mart) mix a teaspoon of that with a gallon of "pure" water and you'll bring those things back like that....

ps. for those who dont know, SUPERTHRIVE is a hormone/vitamin suppliment that has been out for like 67 years. (this is not a fertlizer, but can be added to fert's) THIS STUFF WORKS MIRACLES

well id just start with superthrive right now (bring ferts on gradually) and you said this has been a "clean" grow (no ferts so far)

id try superthrive and maybe start some bloom stimulator/food in small amounts.

i use "expert grow 10-35-10" (its a knock-off of miracle grow) but ive heard people having good/better results with shultz or peters (usually 10.20.10 being used)

but dont fert through harvest, the last 3-weeks of harvest you should use nothing (let the plant use its built up ferts)

my plants currently flowering i use miracle grow all purpose plant food 15 30 15, my plant been outside all its time even so its not an outdoor plant, i didnt use anythink until a week ago, she had 2 yellow bottom leaves wen growing thats about it, fed her that and shes doing better then ever now :)

I took the plants out of the ground from my other spot and moved them into a large pot with fresh new soil, a whole bag fit in the pot plus the plant so i figure i wont have to transplant it anymore and this is its finale destination. So I watered my baby this morning with a lil root stabelizer stuff, but i noticed the plant didn't look as perky and up as it used too, instead it looks limp and weak blowing in the wind, wats up? lmk?

repotting takes a while for the plant to get over, give it a few days before you do anything drastic, you may well find they perk up after becoming used to their new home.

kool, thanks for the info sombro, so how should i be watering her? every other day? then every 2 weeks water with some 15-35-15? is my plant in the flowering stage or is it still in veg? it has female pistils all over it, its a for sure female, so is it flowering?

by this time of year it should be flowering look for the pistils all over the plant and see if any crystals are starting to cover some leaves.... thats how i could tell mine was flowering

Any magnifier will do, i would pick up a 200x or 300x magnifying glass for close observation.

As long as you got drainage holes in the bottom of the pot
it is unlikely that she will die.
But if it continues to rain HEAVELY then you might want to cover her up.

If your pot has good drainage, your plant will be fine. I'm no expert, but I grow outdoors in pots too, and your plant will be fine. Keep up the good work!
