Can someone tell me if this fan is adequate for exhaust in the following scenario: room size is ~280 cu ft and will have probably 4-6 bean sprouts. Active inatke will be a 4" inline. Exhaust will be a 6" and will either pull through a carbon filter or push through a carbon filter and exhaust into the attic in both situations. Genetics will be Superskunk or Skunk 3 x A2. 1 (400 hps) and fans will be running 24/7.

Now the questions: Has anyone ever used 2 6" inline fans in a serial configuration rather then using two seperate exhausts? IS this possible? Not considering heat, will this be adequate for this size room with a fan like that?

I am aware thet a Vortec would be a better bet, but I have a lot of credit at HD and would prefer to use that up and use the monetary monies for other important things. IF I did go with a Vortec, would a 4" be adequate (172 CFM) for a closet of that size? Keep in mind they/it will run 24/7. Thanks:thumbsup:

or try getting just one gable mount attic fan (they're like 15" accross) and are over 1000 cfm for under $60 at HD. that much exhaust (once mounted in ceiling) would suck all the hot air you could ever put in the room.

What about the noise factor? The one I have now is loud and this will be in a walk in closet attached to my bedroom. I like the concept though. I need to see what I would connect in between the carbon filter and the fan.

I can tell you for a fact those suncourt are lame. They are only ment to boost an existing fan they have no power at all if there is any kinda of restriction. through a carbon filter I dought the fan blade would even spin. I have one of the other fans mentioned the gable mount they are acutally 14" and 1400 cfm I use it to vent my entire garage I do not no if it would work for your situation being so big they are rated for 2600 sq ft and yes they are kinda of loud they are ment for on top of your house I would say they are as loud as a box fan maybe louder they do have a built in thermostat which is nice so they don't run constantley. hope this helps I would check ebay for some squirl cage fans they should be right around the same price

Yeah....the power needed to pull/push through carbon was my fear with these fans. I went ahead and bought an 8 inch one, but I think I am just going to return it and get a squirl cage fan. Either that or try and find a used can fan/filter setup because I can't risk escaping smell. I think those suncourts would work with acting just as an exhaust, but not much more. Thanks.
