Well, I was wondering does birth control pills really work? When a female takes them how long does it take for them to take their effect? Can you have sex almost immediately after they are taken? And can I go in any ol' store and buy a bottle? Lol, may seem strange but I'm tired of condoms and barely any girls have birth control pills around here. It's obvious because if they did there wouldnt be so many young mothers. So uh, yeah what are you guys opinions?

they work, me and my ex had condomless sex about 100 times and shes not pregnant. I odnt htink u can just walkin and buy a bottle. Untill ur 18 u can get them for free at a planned parenthood clinic. They do not protect against stds so condoms are still imp unless you are certain your partner is clean

Hey, O-man! Birth control pills are by prescription only, so young ladies have to go to the doc and get a prescription and fill it, then take them correctly in order for them to work. Different pills are prescribed for different women, depending on their bodies/cycles/health issues, etc.
The birth control pill does work very well when taken correctly. Essentially, the pills trick a woman's body into thinking it's pregnant so she doesn't ovulate any more. But because they involve a doctor's visit and then usually aren't covered by insurance, they involve some expense and trouble, and so they're not as readily available as condoms, especially in low income areas. For young ladies who are younger than 18, there's also the added complication of dealing with parents in order to get to the doc and get a prescription.
Condoms are the way to go, hon, as much of a drag as that may be. They protect you from STDs as well as from adding another young mother to the population in your area. Keep wearing those Trojans so you don't become an unwed father statistic yourself!

Well I know for a fact that my "partner" is clean because she's a virgin and eh, damn. Well that sucks xD.

Well, depending on how she feels about another form of birth control, she can go to her doctor or also to the Planned Parenthood and have a visit with the doc or the nurse-practitioner and probably get pills. She gets to choose since it's her body who'd take the pills or carry the baby. Talk with her about it.

I've gotten them for free at planned parenthood when I was under 18 and didn't need any parental permission and it's all kept secretive for you if you want. If taken correctly a female will be protected after a month of using them. However, certain factors can cause them to be less effective, like if she has to take any antibiotics along with her BC pills.

there are thing besides the pill too. theres also a patch that you can wear or a ring that you put inside you. the patch isnt too good though. it can cause health problems. and there are shots that make you stop having your period all together. i dont know if planned parenthood covers those. if parents are a problem your girl could say she wants to go on bc because she gets bad cramps or something.

I say stick with condoms - for the birth control protection if nothing else. If she stops taking the pills, and gets pregnant, you'll regret it - unless she gets an abortion, which she probably won't because she wanted a baby. It's happened to many, many people and I've known more than one guy whose life was basically ruined for 20 years by this type of situation - not to mention the others involved. I came very, very close to being a father myself a few times when I was younger, but was lucky. Don't risk it - use a condom, even if she says she's on the pill. This way, you're covered (literally).

ok heres the deal:
most places you just go to the "free clinic" (if you're a girl)...make an appointment with the family practice people.
when you go to your appointment, they'll do a pap smear. it involves putting something in you to hold you open, while they scrape cells offa your cervix. then they also feel your breasts for lumps. then you sit around in the waiting room forever, and they give you a few months worth of birth control, or you can get the shot or w/e, and most clinics give you condoms too.
you can't just walk into a place and get birth control lol.
oh and with any of them, the effects arent instant. they all take roughly 2 wks to kick in before they're effective against pregnancies.
even so, if you dont use condoms after that point you still run the risk because birth control pills/shots/patches/etc etc arent 100% effective.
thats about it....i'm brain dead now too sleepy.

oh oh oh!! and also if she's taking any weight loss pills and birth control at the same time...it messes up the effects of both i think....
so dont risk it...better to be chunky with no baby, than chunky cuz of a baby.

Fuck condoms, the pill is the way to go, your protected after 7 days of taking them. If your under 18 you can get them for free for about 4 months at any clsc. And if you know your partener is clean then just used to pull out system, if worst comes to worst take the morning after pill, also free.

I'm listening to everyone and considering everything but smitty is right. I just hate that fuckin rubber over my genitals and it's bareable but it's tight on me and hard to get off when I'm still erect. One time I tried to snatch one off and ripped some pubes :p.

if its what im thinking of which i think it is you cant just take 1 before you have sex the girl has to be on them for months so your gf or some girl you fuck all the time.
you cant just give it to one girl once and expect it to work because it wont

never pull out as your form of birth control.
never pull out as your form of birth control.
Exactly. Every man has precum. Or as my biology teacher used to tell us why the pull out method didnt work he explained it in basketball terminology. You ALWAYS dribble before you shoot:D
