I'm tempted to buy a Bose bookshelf CD stereos but they are so gosh darn expensive! Does anyone have one and are they really that wondrous? :)

they're good for smaller rooms and have excellent sound. my brother has one in his bedroom and says they're great but lack the power for high volume rock but his room is pretty big too (12 x 18). when i was there i kept it low (mom was there too) and was very impressed with the high quality and clean sound it produced. i'd buy one if in need...

I have the Bose Soundock, the 300 dollar ipod speakers. Not sure if you are talking about this type of deal, but considering how small it is, they supply tons of sound at crystal clear quality. Bose is the best in music "stuff" in my opinion right now. I would go ahead and get it if I were you.

I dislike the cube systems because they require the use of a subwoofer to get any base at all. I live in an apartment and I can't have a subwoofer because it rattles the place and pissed off neighbors. Instead I have the Bose 301's in the rear and the bose 401's in the front. They're incredible. I've never heard bookshelf speakers put out sound like that. My center channel is a yamaha. I don't like bose's center channel speakers. Those cubes are the most over rated pieces of crap if you ask me. Bose doesn't start getting good 'til you get to the 301 series.
