My eyes were drawn to it for what seemed like forever. I awoke in a daze several hours later..

lol, looks like you're right about the whole star rating thing. The whole first page has a rating on just about every thread, and I would guess that 90% of those threads are rated at least 5 stars or more.

Whoever is doing it really does need to cut it out unless they really deserve it.
