Hi every one, please be nice, im new here x

Ive just started my first serious grow, ive got six baby plants in a closet, with a 400w growlux full spectrum hps, they are in hose pant compost.

they are doing really well, they look good and are not getting strechey, just nice and bushy, but are still young, the biggest about 10 inces tall.

the problem ive got is temperature, they seemed to have slowed down growing, but apart from that are healthy.

im using a fishtank thermometer, dont know if its accurate, wich is reading about 104 degrees at mid day, i know its too hot, but is it way too hot in a very bad way? i can afford to buy an intake and extractor fan, but my house is rented and i dont dare stard making holes in the roof/wall

what do i do! please help i dont want my babies to die or be males

What the heck is hose pant compost? :D
Sorry couldn't resist!

104'F is WAY WAY too hot. You want to keep things between 65-70 night and 70-80 day.

Heat aside, ventilation is very important.
Without adequate CO2, your plants are not going to be able to bulk up.

What I would do in your situation would be to go to the hardware store and actually buy a new, cheap-assed closet door. Then you can cut all the holes in it you want, and when it's time to move out, just put the old one back in place.

Man the best I could tell you is get ready for some hermies:confused: You need to do something if you want to prevent it. Question are you using superthrive? if your not get ready for those hermies, buy superthrive(a stress reliever) and a product called "dutch master reverse" I used it here the thread on it

Buy some more fans or a stronger fan, also play with the positioning of the fans and it could lower the temps, you could also try to get or make your own cool tube. You need to drop those temps at least 16% or more. Good luck man and dont worry I've been there done that, the only think that I was able to make holes and such, but you can still do thinks to prevent it like try to vent the hot air atleast into you room or out the window and not stay in the closet:thumbsup:

thanks for the advice ! ive been out and got a fan kit with some ducting aswell....now got to figure the best way to fit it...im thinking i can vent it through the roof into the attic, the cold air intake will have to rely on passive pressure from the extractor fan...i hope its enough.

oh, the fan is rated at 250m3/h, the room is 2.4m/0.7m/0.7m

omg, i gust read a post about false highs with temp probes if they are directly under the light, which mine are!

if i shade them will it give me a true reading or just a false low?...need to do some reading about thermometer positioning...

Yea just make a cover so that its getting no direct light strictly shade and what it reads is your room temp
