Hello guys and gals, I thought it was time to introduce myself, since I am starting to get found of this forum. I registered yesterday to ask a question about packing and transport, but I stuck along reading a few more threads and before I knew 2 hours passed.

I am 22, have been growing plants for about 5 years, study history, and life in Fryslân, which is in the North of the Netherlands, probally beter know to you as Holland... the old arch enemies of the Frissians :p For ages Holland tried to conquer Fryslân but never really succeded... but history did. And now after beeing a federation we are now ignored in the union/kingdom created by the French revolutionairies. Anyway I got carried away there :P But it can be frustrating to hear your country beeing wrongly named just because people in Holland are more arrogant then the rest of the country ;)

Oh I am mad of Godspeed you black emperor and pink floyd both, I have the best daydreams when listening to them :D

Hmmm, I've lived in the USA most of my life, but I was born in Friesland. In East Friesland (in Germany, not far from Oldenburg), is that the area you are talking about?

No, and yes. Looking at it that way I life in West Fryslan which is in the Netherlands. Fryslan never really had a high society and therefore it didnt really had an organised political ambition, which had advantages for example all the peasants where free and not owned by some bloke of rolality. But without the imperial ambition, which its neighbour didnâ??t lack, it got swallowed up by the unions of the Netherlands in the west, and Germany in the east.
