400watts HID vs PC

Is running a 400watt HPS/MH the same as running a PC with a power supply of 400 watts? If so having a 400watt bulb is almost like having another computer? is that logic correct or am i trippin?

yes,that is correct, or a normal 300w PC and a 17" monitor.

comparable to a color TV ... definitely not an obvious power draw on your bill ... here, a 400-watt light at 18 hrs per day will run your bill up about $20-$25 per month, if that helps ... :smokin:
