Hehe,J/k ,Well as some of you know my other plants turned out male ,But a great friend of mine gave me a clone off an remarkable plant .So as i promised to him im starting a new grow log of the clone .Under 336 wtts ,Thats 8 42 wtt cfl's pushing out 21600 LUMENS.

This little girl has been in veg for about 2 weeks and just started growing about 4 days ago .Because the clone was not rooted when i got it .

Looking forward to this. Depending on the success you have (meaning yield) Ill replace my 250w HPS with a bunch of CFLs. Mind you, its handy to have in the winter because it warms up my cab. Meh, maybe Ill get some CFLs next year. How much heat do those eight CFLs push out? If I remember correctly your cab is about the same size as mine, maybe a tad smaller.

Sorry but you are not pushing 21600 lumens with 42W CFLS.

If you have all bulbs within a box 12" square, recessed with nice reflection parabolic backing you might hit some high lumen numbers. But you cannot add up all the lumens and think that is what you are putting out.

This isnt correct.

You can still only grow small tomatos with those lights...although small tomatos can be very good one indeed.

Just dont fool yourself with the lumens....they dont add up like we would like to think they would.

OptimusPrime-The Strain is a cross between Angle Dust x Sour Diesel


Tom Swierzbinski-The temps that they push out got no idea. But if dont turn my fan on the temps get up to like 115f .But i easly cool it with 1 8 inch Honeywell turbine fan only blowing in and out the back where i have a hole cut out,temps stay at 79-83 .Dunno Tom. how big is your box mine is
2ft 4inch's Tall, 1ft wide, 1ft 11inchs deep


HARDDON-Thanks alot for clearing that up for me.But my box is very small ,I also understand about it not being that many lumens ,(I can wish that they add up like that cant i ? :D )

CFL, my cabinet is a bit bigger than that. 2.5ft wide, 2.5ft deep and anywhere between 3 and 5 foot high depending how much I raise the light. Ill pick up some CFLs in the next couple of months and do a CFL grow, the temps should be fine in my little closet. Handy thing with CFLs is that you only need to have them a couple of inches away, and you can plonk a couple to 'bulk up' the buds on the bottom. Cheers for the info, youve made me want to use CFLs now!
Oh, and bloody brilliant strain by the way! SD is a wicked smoke so Ive heard, never heard of Angel Dust though... you sure its not PCP? :p

Also when your back on the game tell me if your plant's have a distinct (sp) smell of burning jet fuel because mine does

Yep,that fuel smell is the sour Diesel.
Thats were the Diesel name came from.
That strain should be very good.
I hope you kept a mother of it.
Or your friend has one right?
