Hey whats up guys. i just setup and sealed up my C13 in a nearby walk-in closet. i ordered a cheap 400w system from HTGsupply complete with a reflector and both bulbs that i will be using for this grow. fox farm nutes are on the way and i just got my dayton 140cfm yesterday. tomorrow i will get started on the drilling for the ducting work and my cab will be ready. my sister is out of town right now so i dont have a camera to use until monday :( but i put alot of time into setting this thing up and im hoping things will go smoothly:rasta:

there is one problem tho, i dont know what to grow. any suggestions on what i should grow??? this is my first grow....

btw the demensions of the cab are 2.5'x1.5' and nearly 6' tall

all 6 bagseed cracked and are in soil right now :) will post some pics tomorrow if something pops up :rasta:

i read somewhere on here that using a little superthrive with the germination can improve your female ratio :) i did it so we'll see what happens...

ok so its been 11 days since i put my seeds in soil... miracle grow to be exact(i know i know its shitty but its all i had at the time)

the seeds popped thru 2 days after that(7/18) and outgrew their cups yesterday(had them in beer pong type plastic cups) so today i went out and got some scotts pro soil and some perlite. i made a 60/40 mix soil/perlite and repotted in ... actually it doesnt say what size it is but once i get a camera youll see. i also mixed a heavy pinch of this bone meal i have, its 12-0-0 so that should help em grow. the soil had some P mixed with it too, so im going to let my babies sit in the dark for a good 16 hours to let those roots spread out in theese big pots :)

tomorrow ill have a cam hopefully and ill post asap

When your FoxFarm nutes arrive...start it out 1/4 strength for a couple feedings, than 1/2 strength for a couple more.

Prior to that, flush your plants and get that Miracle Grow business out of the soil. Mixing organics (FoxFarm) with chemicalized ferts tends to produce a less than stellar growing medium. Instead of a compliment, you'd end up with the two counteracting one another.

And if you're not shooting for stellar...well...why bother eh.

UPDATE- tho its not really needed

im bored so why not.... look how big they've gotten after just 1 day under the 400w MH

12 days since sprout:rasta:

the pic with the quarter is to show the growth, ill be doing that with that plant thru out the grow to show the general progress of all the plants

UMrocksmysocks
07-29-2006, 06:00 PM
the leaves on plant 3 are starting to curl up on the sides a little bit...

my temps are a little high at 88 right now.. and the plant is 22" away from the light. i originally used MG soil but then when i repotted i switched to scotts soil with 40% perlite added to it. when i repotted i threw a pinch of bone meal into the soil and mixed it up good,, if im forgetting any other important details let me know..

anyone know why my plant is doing that???

edit: is the same plant as the one above with the quarter...

Could have been the MG soil you used if it proceeds do a quick flush and you should be OK. Make sure not to over fert, other than that they look really nice and good. ;)

07-29-2006, 08:24 PM
My guess too was over-ferts. I was gonna say a light flush may be a good idea.

Is that too much perlite?

UMrocksmysocks
07-29-2006, 10:16 PM
meh, its alot but not too much i dont think. a hefty 60/40 mix. looks like theres alot becuase of that ring it makes around the plants when i water them

UMrocksmysocks
07-31-2006, 10:46 PM
ok, the curling stopped on plant number 3. all my plants look very healthy! :)

this is going to be a good grow, good luck

damn well better be :D here are some more pics...

pic#2 is the one that had the curling leaves and a little nute burn but its back in action and looking great

pic#3 is plant 6-- this one was looking kinda shitty when i repotted but it bounced back very nicely and is outgrowing number 3! :)

i also threw a little Howard Johnsens Natural Organic Bone Meal(3-6-0) on top of the soil and mixed it around on all the plants before i watered em today, hoping it will thicken those stems up a bit

suggestions?? comments??? i would love some feedback on this-- first serious grow here so im still kind of a noooob

ok so its been like.. 13 days since ive updated

1- overview
2- look how tall they've gotten :)
3- thats the tallest plant right now, the light is about 20" away so they did stretch a bit but i think its ok :)
4- those are the secondary branches starting up, if thats what they are called ??? :stoned: its natural for those first 2 leaves, after the 2 fan leaves, to die off by now right??
5- check out those fucked up genetics.. damn bagseed,,, that was plant #3-the healthiest one starting out

suggestions... questions... comments?????? i really want some feedback

BlueBear

With the curling up leaves, you did good. It is allot of times a over nute problem. So far so good for the most part. Do you have an oscillating fan rotating in there to circulate the air and strengthen those stocks?
Adieu

UMrocksmysocks
08-13-2006, 10:19 PM
ya, ive got a big fan in there blowing the air out of the room.. and ya that stems are healthy and strong :)

they're all growing really fast now, 3/4 to an inch a day :) this week im going to repot into 5gal pots and start training them. i plan on switching to flower 2 weeks after that, around the 1st i hope

UMrocksmysocks
08-21-2006, 06:29 PM
day 36....

my plants are still in 1gal pots right now.. i switched over to flower 3 days ago (8/18) to eliminate the males. i just threw the HPS in there today. temps are 86 :o

would it be cool with the plants if i flowered to show sex, then repot and go into veg for another week, then flower again??? would my buds be ok>???

UMrocksmysocks
08-22-2006, 08:48 PM
what up

ok ive confirmed 3 females and 2 males in just 5 days of flowering.. the last one is unknown

i had 3 close up shots but they didnt turn out all that good, you couldnt really see the white hairs comingout:mad:

pic#4 is the best shot i could get with my cam of 1 of the females
pic#5 is one of the males ill be getting rid of

UMrocksmysocks
08-23-2006, 05:04 PM
6 days into flowering and its obvious, 3 females-3 males

idk if i should throw the 3 males outside, then pick leaves when they are ready for cannabutter ??? or do you think thats too much work-- either way, tomorrow those males are going somewhere

im gonna work on getting some good pics of the 3 fems.. will post them in a few minutes

oh ya, this has nothing to do with anything, but last night at 4am i woke up and was walking to get some water and i knocked my bong over and broke my stem !!! RAGE!!-- then i had to clean it up cuz the whole room wreaked like bong water

Its a Plant

day 13 of 12/12 :rasta:

ordered some fox farm flowering nutes last weekend, so that should help speed up the process\

oh ya, and instead of mixing my nutes in water, which woulda been bad.. i just added some super phosphate and another 3-6-0 fert

Stylus
08-30-2006, 11:25 PM

day 28 --- 12/12 :rasta:

im thinking the front plant is dominantly sativa, going onto my 5th week of flowering and she was/is still, streching an inch a day or so. the back left plant is doing the best, it has the biggest buds and its also the shortest of the 3. its almost half the height of the front one :)

UMrocksmysocks
09-14-2006, 06:45 PM
heres a couple more of the back left plant :)

the 2nd pic is 4 nodes down :D

Looking great socks...I'm following this thread with a lot of interest because that is the exact lighting system I just got from HTG too....sitting in a box in my growroom so far. I'm worried about heat buildup...my actual grow room is half a closet, so like 3 ft x 2.5ft x 6 ft tall. I can exhaust fan in to the main room but is that enough? What is your fan setup like?

I'm half tempted to use 125 & 200 watt CFL to eliminate heat probs. but I hate for that 400w HPS to go to waste.

UMrocksmysocks
09-15-2006, 09:44 AM
right now all i have is a dayton 140cfm exhaust going to my attic. and ya, the light is hot so i have to leave my door cracked while its on. temps stay at around 85F. i also have my light practically on the ceiling of my cab right next to my fan and i lower my plants as they grow... its a little more work but i think it makes the fan a bit more effective

mellogold
09-15-2006, 10:24 AM
get a bigger fan, once you attach y our scrubber it will c ut the cfm in half, i know from recent experiance

UMrocksmysocks

i just got a 160(ish) cfm centrifugal made my fantech-- heard they are damn good, and was a bit pricey.. im going to use that for my scrubber adn then keep the other fan running too...

the bulbs, reflector, and ballast were only 165$ on ebay :)

UMrocksmysocks
09-16-2006, 04:15 AM
btw, thanks postman and bodom for tuning in :) good to see some people are catching on to this thread. im gonna be looking to you guys for some advice down the road as to when i should chop them because this is the first time ive flowered mj plants AND they are bagseed so im really in the dark! :o

oh ya, when i got my fan today, some other flowering nute came... got me some CHA CHINGGGGG :):) im sure you're all familiar, but its a Foxfarm product and it looks pretty hardcore (9-50-40) i found this FF chart on the net that im going to follow... http://www.foxfarmfertilizer.com/SoilSystems_FF_Feed.pdf
