I'm looking for a band with a darker feeling, just wondering if anybody knows of a good one. Not so much dark like death metal artists singing about the devil and such (though that's good too), but a "sadder" tone. I don't know, "sad" isn't exactly the term I'm looking for, but something around the lines of dark. Dark Tranquillity's "therin" or "undo control" would be a good example. though I'm open to non-metal bands/songs as well, just not lame lounge music or angsty emo or anything. Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks.

you should check out JESU its kind of like dark ambient metal....its mostly instrumental. If you do listen to the song "friends are evil" thats kind of a dark song...and it sounds AMAZING while high.

Dark music?
Slow music? or music about death or what? You looking for something like slipknot or something slow and depressing like coldplay

Try some of Les Claypool's projects: Primus, the Flying Frog Brigade, the Fancy Band...
His stuff's dark, but at the same time, it makes you feel good. It sure is out there though. Les love him some LSD.

It doesn't have to be slow to be dark, but no I don't mean like slipknot (whom I don't care for). Just something that conveys a darker emotion. The 2 Dark Tranquillity examples I stated are excellent songs, worth checking out. Some of the latest Theatre of Tragedy album "Storm" could fall into the category. Maybe just the opposite of uplifting.
EDIT: no, not something that makes you feel good

Listen to Muse's album Absolution, or anything by Muse for that matter.
Alot of people find his voice annoying but it was the first thing that cam to my head when you said dark music
Type O negative - Black No1 (Little miss scare all)
Also a band called
"Acid Bath" are amazing...they only did two albums but if you have access to d/l them I strongly reccomend it...
He also was in a band called "Deadboy and the lephant men" Which was alot slower and more depressing if thats what you are looking for....
I just love his voice
Ill upload and post a link if you cant find that Type o Negative song....if your interested

To me, it doesn't get much darker that "Dirt" by Alice in Chains. Lots of death, suicide, drug use, etc.
Something that makes you feel depressed, but a little angry too.
