Well today i was getting high, only the 5th time in my life.

Well my parents were out with their friends at a bar, so 2 close friends came over. I pulled out a joint i had made earlier that day and went down to my basement. Well I planned it out a bit and smoked the joint. Now my friend decides she wants to smoke cigarettes so we go to the back door and chill on the steps. Then 2 hours before my rentz were suposed to be home I hear footsteps. We all scattered. I tried to trash all the cigs n shit but ended up burning my hand and I just stood their looking guilty. Well my dad being an ex cop caught on right away. Made me throw out all my shit and said to se him tomoro morning.

Well morning came and i had to talk to my rentz. Surprisingly they didnt flip out. My mom was very upset, almost crying. (Now keep in mind, my dad smoked alot of weed when he was my age, and my mom did too, so they know how it is). My dad proceeded to tell me how Im still too young (16) and I should at least wait untill im out of highschool before i start stuff like this. Then he proceeded to tell me that he is now in "cop mode" and is going to be watching me very carefully. Hes going to make sure I dont smoke anymore. And he said if he catches me hes gonna "hold" all my money and keep me occupied with work so that i wont have the time to get high, or the funds.

Now my mom left for work and shes upset. I kinda feel like I let them down, even though they all know it isn't really bad at all. I dont know what to do.

Well if any of you guys could give some suggestions, it would be very helpfull

Should I give up on weed? Mayb take a 2 week break? Or do as they say and wait untill im 18?

Well that's messed up, man. I'd at least take a break while you sort this out. But seriously, if that isn't a prime example of the "pot" calling the kettle black, I don't know what is. If they did it at your age, who are they to tell you not to do it? Lol, well, they're your parents, so you have to follow their rules, but at the same time, try and talk some sense into them without offending.

Maybe mention something about thembeing slightly hypocritical, or how it's totally harmless and doesn't always lead to you ending up naked in the gutter. Promise them that if your grades slip at all, then you'll give it up.

Well regardless of anything they are still your parents and you have to respect the household, quit until your 17 if you can hang it, then let them know your mature enough to try it.

well just talked to my dad yet again, and he sais absolutly no weed be4 18 and he's gonna be watchen me closely to make sure I dont. This really does suck, Im new to weed, and from my first few expiriences I love it. I meen im not addicted or anything but it seems like a stupid thing to do, to give up on such harmless fun.

Well gonna lay low for few weeks but I think what it will come down to is. Sometime in the future gonna smoke again and with my luck I'll get caught.
Mayb after i get caught again they'll relize that they cant stop me, but then again my dad's not that kinda guy.

maybe you should ask daddy to confinscate weed at his job and bring it home to you, so you and him can have a little father-son bonding time and sort this mess out :D

that sucks... i had the same situation only my dad isnt a cop : P... my mom caught me, (dad lives in new york), and she was on the verge of tears- even though at my age she was eating L and smoking pot, and "forbid me from that pot-smoking"... so i just dont smoke at home anymore- it sucks, but i have to deal with that for a couple months until i get her trust back

He is right they're still your parents i got caught at work and lost a great paying job with any hours i wanted to work and the next day i just lit up cause i said fuck it i try not to think about it because everyone is human and we all make errors i am still in the stage where once you experience the worst you learn to be more careful a cool thing my mom offered to do to help me quit was to buy all my stuff from me and flush it she was going to pay me about 100 bucks for 1/4 of ounce and i said "i am going to smoke weed for the rest of my life" now my money actually is trying to hear me out and listen to what i have to say bout the drug and how it has helped my depression mood she also finds some of the pipes pretty cool looking

That sucks don't smoke at home. Don't come home till your not stoned. If that ain't going to work get some eyedrops and get into the spirit of pot don't worry. Your greatest enemy in avoiding capture is paranoia which is a self propagating symptom. Don't get in the habbit of freaking out. Just be cool. When I say be cool I mean don't freak out. Take some extra precuations don't go home smelling like a drug den Get home on time or call,becuase if your late your parents are already suspicious. Hell you might just quit untill your dad gets out of "cop mode". But at the same time talk to them about pot all the time benefits.

I had some hypocritcal bullshit happen to me a few years back my mom and stepdad both smoke and i was smokeing they told me i had to quit or they would kick me out so when they caught me they were gonna kick me out but i thought fuck it i am not quitting they did catch me and they went off but i didn't get kicked out but now that i am on my own i smoke whenever i can but don't get it that often cause i don't have money for it and no car or a dealer that i can find anymore well in your case i would just keep my smokeing on the down low and don't do it at home or come back completly stoned

The thing about my dad is, he understands pot, and says if it was legalized he himself might start up again. But he thinks 16 is to young to alter my consciencness. (I guess kinda makes sence).

So as soon as he stops his investigations ill start again. But if I get caught, lifes gonna be a bitch with no freetime, no wallet, and no trust from parents.

Just be smart about it. You have only smoked a few times so it's not like your ganna be desperate if you can't smoke it everyday. Just smoke when your not at home and you wont be home for a few hours at least. Or you could just wait till your 18, its not that far away. plus you dont have much of a habit to keep up.

Well talked to rentz again today, came up with a really good argument (even they thought it was good) but they cant in their minds justify letting their 16 year old do illegal drugs.

The question is now, do I wait two years? or wait a few weeks untill he lets his guard down a bit. Keep in mind if i get caught kinda lost all my parent's trust.

one time i was smoking with 2 friends at my other friends house and his mom came home and flipped out and was yellin like a maniac ( talk about a buzz kill . well she yelled at me and told me to go home and make my mom call her phone, so i get home and told my mom what happened and then she goes to call her and hears a ring at the door and its my friends mom and my friend. so she procedes to barge her way into my house and was yellin ( this was at like 11 30 at night ) and woke my dad up and he came out and confirmed that i was high cause my eyes were red and im like ya i kno i am, and after all the yelling she left and then my mom was like i dont really care that u smoke. so it was awsome and i actually smoked probably an hour after it all happened :) o ya and u should probably lay off it for alittle or try not to be high around them.

Being that my father is an ex-cop, and smoked alot of ganja in college, and busted one my young sisters a couple of years ago...I'll tell you it's easier to just not smoke in your situation. Cops (current and former) talk and once Johnnies kid is known to get into a little trouble here and there, Johnny Jr. suddenly ends up with new admirers that make pests of themselves... Besides, your pops is right, wait until you're out of high school. Good luck with everything.

Untill you move out i bet you wont be able to smoke much but your best bet would be smoking with your friends while your out and never at your house. he for sure will be going threw your shit so dont leave anything in your house and clear eyes is your new best friend. If you want somthing in your house your best bet is to buy an eighth or somthing small and get a one hit grind up all your weed and put the one hit and bud in a large highlighter because they are pritty inconspicuous. Problems like this just call for better ideas in order to work. you can think of somthing just be even more carefull and always keep an eye out for the cop known as dad.
