I really don't like drinking either. I'll take weed anytime over it. Alcohol is just so...Bleh. And it's easy to go a little to far, and feel like fucking shit. Well, that's my problem with alcohol: I'm basically a social alcoholic, and don't know how to quit once I start. Plus alcoholism runs in my family, and has killed my mother, a brother-in-law, and a step-father (although the latter being dead probably made the world a better place). Alcoholism almost got me too, but I pretty much just quit drinking, except for the occasional bottle of wine shared with the woman.

In any case, I've seen alcohol kill enough people, and don't need to see it kill any more. It's both addictive, and a poison that will destroy brain cells and your liver (that's what killed my brother-in-law and step-father). I much prefer a few good bong hits or a spliff.

Well, I like to get drunk every now and then. Some of my friends go out and do it a little more regularly than me, but I still join them once in awhile.

Drinking with a bunch of other friends is a blast. Everyone just gets sloshed and no one can function right. Lol, I love it. Give me a nice cold beer and I'm set, and if you're really nice, make it a Newcastle. MmmmMMmm.

And to make sure you don't get a hangover, just down a glass of water before you, uhhh, "drift off to sleep" after a night of drinks. You'll just wake up lethargic and tired in the morning most likely, but at least your melon won't hurt!

I enjoy drinking alot. Like many others have said, getting drunk with a group of your buddies and just bullshitting is great. Drinking just gets old to me if I do it too much. I can smoke herb every day and never get tired of it, but after a night of heavy drinking, the mere thought of drinking again just sounds horrible.

I get depressed everytime I drink now so I don't drink anymore. Plus I hate the hangover, I don't like the way food tastes when I'm drunk.. doesn't satisfy me, I like my secrets kept bottled up and alcohol can uncork them, I don't like violence and alcohol makes me want to fight and generally, I don't like the drinking atmosphere. I'd rather hang out with a couple people and smoke some buds. Alcohol doesn't work for me but Mary Jane is spot on. To each their own.

I've been drunk about 10 times in my life, and I'll admit that being drunk can be very fun. However, I dislike the taste of most alcohol (Rolling Rock aside) and I feel like the actual drinking process is a chore. And when a substance leaves you feeling like shit when you wake up, it probably isn't something to be messed around with. I mean, I have smoked at least 2 bowls a day this entire summer and I have never felt any negative effects. So for me, I'll stick with marijuana because it feels like less of a poison and more like a helping hand.

Losing the self-conciousness is probably why non-drunk people don't enjoy being around drunk people. You could seem like a total gem to yourself while others think you're an ass. Loss of self-conciousness usually translates into an oblivion that oppresses you unknowingly. People can't even confront the issue because to you, it seems like everything is exultant, and you don't have the cognitive ability to recognize that others see it radically different. This is avoided when everyone's drunk, but people have different tolerance levels, so even then it's typical.

I like liquor, though. No drink is more civilized to me than a gin on rocks or gin & tonic. A martini with dry vermouth instead of sweet hits the spot also. I like to be able to taste the alchohol in its entirety. If it's diluted too much in sweet mixtures you sometimes don't realize how much alcohol you're imbibing and you cross the threshold of self-control in ignorance.

I'll sum up by saying when I get together with friends, it's not really a party unless there's both alcohol and herb. However, I religiously avoid people who aren't themselves when drinking and can't remember what happened when you talk to them the next day

Yeah dude I thought I was the only one.. herb totally regulates my colon. Even better with a cup of coffee, which is a natural laxative (both relax the smooth colon). Too much coffee makes you poo allday though.

And not only can alcohol make you feel shitty, it's destructive on one's health. There's tons of calories in it and it makes your liver work too hard. I've wondered if maybe alcohol and cigarettes are still so commonly used in US culture because americans don't fuckin care what's physically bad for them, that's why they eat at kfc and mcdonalds. If the US would get over its dumbass prejudices and look at the way things actually are, they would switch to herb and not have to think about the ill effects of alc and cig anymore. by the way I heard that kfc's chicken has more trans fat in one serving than a person should eat in a week. trans fat raises your LDL (bad cholesterol). they add it on purpose so that the integrity of the flavor has a longer shelf life. eww.

Drinking is an occasional thing to me. I usually like getting buzzed more than I do getting drunk because it avoids all the sick feelings. I enjoy beer and have a taste for hard liquor, but I have to agree with what 90% of the posts have said: alcohol is simply not as enjoyable as bud for me. The fact that enough of it will make you nauseous, make you throw up, give you a hangover, and can kill you is just not appealing, especially when compared to marijuana. However, it IS an intense feeling when you're very drunk and very high at the same time..happened to me last night at a bonfire.

Sometimes I think that the majority of people drink for social acceptance.

I'm the same way. I've only been drunk once in my life because that's all I want to be. I hate the taste of all alcohol and if I don't enjoy something then i'm not gonna do it usually, especially if it will take away from my weed money. But seriously, I hate alcohol, it causes some people to become violent, some to become paralletic idiots. I prefer to be in control. Hang over suck ass too, fuck that shit. I use to LOVE drinking. Drink all day long and by 7pm, I was blowing up anything that was flammable. :p

I no longer drink though, and a lot of my old drinking pals, have gave up smoking pot and only drink now. It's a shame, but I guess they like the drink over smoking. Booze is legal so it is more accepted as okay in society. They can do it in public and not get looked down on. I guess if it's legal, it makes it okay to use. :rolleyes:
