Hello everyone,

I just discovered this web site yesterday - eureka !!
I'm middle-aged, and I've been smoking herb for many years now. My personal experience with this plant is what I would like to share here with everyone. Cannabis is best consumed without mixing other drugs like alcohol and/or tobacco. I disagree with the addage that "marijuana is a gateway drug."

I have over 20 yrs., of personal use. I don't smoke tobacco or drink. My health is good. I work, enjoy the outdoors, and after all these years of tokin' the truth is, I'm finally growing my own herb !!

Since the plants are about 8 wks., old now I'm trying to differientiate the sex of my 4 plants.

They are under a cycle of 12 hrs., light and 12 hrs., darkness for 1 wk., now.

Can someone point me to pics or give me pointers to help determine the sex of my plants ? I'm guessing that it's still too early for my plants to know for sure.

:confused:

COLOR=Dark Green

some strains show early, get a magnifying glass and look at the plants nodes(where the branch meets the main stem)
if it shows a white hair looking thing coming from there, then it`s a female
if there are tiny rounded ones, then they are males
it might take a few more days to show the sex, but check every day

i too have been toking for 20+ years, growing outdoors for the past seven or eight. i'm growing my first indoor garden this year thanks to a recent move to the city. all you have to do is look for the balls...... it has already been said, use a magnifying glass and you can't go wrong. the earlier the better! get some bloodmeal to put around the base, keeps the cutworms and thrips (tiny aphid-sized weevil) from killing your beauty. avoid circling around your plant while tending it. the resulting trampled path around it will look like a bullseye from the air. best to plant it right off of a footpath where you know it won't bee snatched. if you plant 'em where they don't expect them to be no one will discover them, unless you have planted afghan or an afghan-related species. i knew a guy who was famous for his "gan" and you could find his plants by smell.

It doesn't take long to figure out. My babies were on 12/12 and after 8-10 days it became quite obvious for this beginner which ones were males ! Thanks for the tips everyone. I was wondering if anyone has any receipes they would like to share for the male plants and leaves.
