I'm very new to this stuff but I want to build a grow cabinet in order to grow indoors. I have a question about carbon filters: is their only purpose to neutralize smells and make the setup more stealthy? From what I've seen, the filter is placed in sequence after the exhaust fan (the one blowing air OUT of the cabinet) so it doesn't seem to be adding anything to the grow environment itself. I want to grow a cross of C99 x Blueberry and from what I've read, rather than producing the pungent, strong weed smell it smells like citrus or some other type of fruit. If this were the case, would I even need a carbon filter or just an exhaust fan? Thanks for any help.

Go with the scrubber for almost any strane. And yes the scrubbers only function is to kill the dank smell. A little advice, a grip of growers are tipped off because of the smell. Don't get caught slipping.
Adieu.

So the theory is "better safe than sorry," right? Makes sense. What's a good carbon filter for a cabinet that is under 60 cubic feet?

Adding safety to your grow is always important. Hid the odor, the light leak and you can hide the grow.

There is nothing worse then having your crop ripped the last week of flower because someone walked by and smelled it on the wind. ;)
