Hey all, I've nearly finished my Papaya grow so i thought "hay i got a month or 2 left of summer, why not grow some LowRyder" and thats excactly what i'm doing :)
I know alot of you (even myself) are interested in this Dwarf/AutoFlowering cannabis strain, so i thought ied make a Grow Diary to keep you all informed of the grow.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
DAY 1
Just got the seeds through the post from Dope-Seeds.com, Extremely quick delivery by the way, so if any of you want LowRyder, i recommend Dope-Seeds.
I've placed my seeds on soaked woolen pads and placed them into a Tupperware container, and covered with cling film. This is the technique my dad used and the technique i also used on my Papaya, and it usually turns out a "90-100%" germination success rate.
I'll leave the seeds now for a couple of days and then i can pot em up if theyve germinated :D
Obviously i didnt post any pics purley cus theyres not much to take a picture of lol. I shall take photos and upload them onto here when i see the germinated shoots.
For now, Adios :)

Yay, I'm glad you're going to do the Lowryder! I'm definitely going to order some for next season. I did get my Papaya in from buydutchseeds.com. Very good stealth packaging. And as late in the season as it is, I couldn't help but plant them.
I'll start a journal up for them along with the Swiss Miss by Nirvana that I started. It's been 3 days on the Swiss Miss so far with a 80% germination rate as of this moment. I fully expect the other two to germinate soon but if not 80% is still not too bad for a noob like me :P
Good luck, and can't wait to see updates :)

Oh, If you're wondering what the little yellow/orange balls are in the soil, they're not more seeds, theyre just simply some nutrients i added and mixed into the soil :)

hey just curious what youve potted them in as i can see some darker looking soil / compost towards the middle going lighter towards the outside, thanks.

azure, i'm pretty sure he's using somewhat hard water so what you're seeing is that on the inside, the soil is darker because he recently watered, and then as it goes out, it evaporates and all of the salts and minerals are forming crystals...

Im just using normal potting soil. and the darker part you see towards the middle is where i watered it with a spray bottle.:smokin:

No mate not atall its fine, as matter of fact i was hoping someone would post some more LowRyder threads, stock photos on websites of lowryder are poor, with growers like us posting pics, we can all get a proper 1st hand look at the plants.
I'll be posting more pics tomoz,
ciao for now,
Sam

"So youns lots wants some piccies of the lowryders do yas? Well ere's sum piccies to satisfies youns lowryder cravins."
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
The plants are about 2 and a bit weeks old and are looking nice n' healthy. The leaves are a perfect colour and the stems are already toughening up (ive had fan on/off em and wind been playing it's part whenever i put plants directly outside.) for now the plants are doing amazingly. And remember to keep coming back for frequent updates and piccies.
For now, Ciao.

The plants are now constently either In the greenhouse, where recently we've been getting highs of 35oC in the greenhouse. But if i wanna give the plants some wind and a cool-off i put em outside on a bench that gets allday sun and light useful winds.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
I shall post some more pics in about a week.
Hopefully (as it being lowryder and all) i should see the sex soon, apparently the website said roughly 20days from seed, but they either mean grow hydro-ly, or they're plain out wrong lol.
All being well i should see the sex signs in about 1-2weeks :)
For now, c ya in a bit

Well, they all showed theyre sexes (males and females) pretty much around the same time (give or take a day).
They showed there sex traits about 25days into growing :) (when they were about 3-4inches tall).
Its all looking good so far mate, i grew some LR's a cuple months back.
They're an all round great strain, and i feel the same as you, there arnt enough pics of it.
Mine was only 5 inches tall when i harvested lol, i had a REALLY dwarf plant lol.
Still, the smoke is surprisingly strong, not too heavey and the smell is very pungent.
On the joint doctor site it says is smells slightly earthy, personally i couldnt tell, but i asked my mate what it smelled like and he said, earthy, and hes never seen the join doctors site before.

looking good so far matey.
you giving them any nutes??
Deffo growing some next year, i reckon you learn more every harvest. With LR you can get 5 or 6 harvests in a season, you're free to mess around with flavourings, different ferts and sugar flushing etc.
it's my first grow this year and its been a very steep learning curve!
good luck

I would love to see some finished, outdoor grown lowryders / #2 / any lowryder cross. I'm planning on growing as many as possible, but would love to see some results.

Yes im sorry for not posting any finished images, lost ma camera. But i will try to explain it to you as best as i can.
When i grew my lowryder last year they grew for Approx 1.5months and grew to about 1 - 1 and half feet tall. The buds were very crystally indeed i was impressed with the THC %. The smell of the bud was very nice, sort of a Orangy, Coca Cola like smell, they wernt to pungent, but when you smelt them upclose they really did smell devine. Quite resinous buds, when you sniffed the bud it left your nose very stinky, and the smell hung around your nose for about 10mins after :). I had a spastic lowryder plant, which was a plus if anything, because it grew as if it was 2 seperate plants, but they were both connected at the bottom stalk, i cropped my lowryder, and 3days later i noticed ied left half the spastic plant attached, and it regrew back to another full sized lowryder :D.
Think thats all/most of the info on ma lowryders that i can remember, i am planning to grow these again, along side some other plants ive got growing this summer, so i will a) continue this post on with new grow, b) start new thread.
Cheers
Djnemesis

How easy are these to grow in a greenhouse ? Do you have to use special nutrients ?
