Actually Colombus discovered the continent, which was named after Americo Vespucci (you can easily imagine which country was named after Colombus) :)

Christopher Columbus was not an Italian, but a Catalan. He was born in Genoa, Italy, in 1451.

Columbus didn't "discover" America, the Viking Lief Erikson did.

I used to live in a neighborhood called Bay Ridge, in Brooklyn, that had a lot of Scandanavian people. Around Columbus day, there were lapel buttons sold that said "Leif Landed First!".

Lief Erickson didn't discover America, it had been discovered a while before that when nomads came from the Bering Straight.

Or when French Neanderthals built a boat out of trees and crossed the Atlantic Ocean, if you believe that theory.

Why does everyone always forget about the Native Americans?

Because the Natives were here too long to have discovered it. And anyway, white people like ourselves love to claim to be the first to discover places.
I heard somewhere that around 500 AD (500 years before the vikings), some Irish priest named Saint Brendan lead an expedition sailing around the atlantic looking for the garden of eve and saw America but was too afraid to land on shore so he turned back. funny shit.

Or the theory about Egyptians crossing the Atlantic Ocean in papyrus boats? Helps explain the similarities in Pyramids and Latin American Temples.

Yeah, that's why I typed discovered in parentheses.

Yeah, that's why I typed discovered in parentheses.
The papyrus theory was cool, but on the History (or Discovery) channel they were saying that nothing ever crossed the Bering Straight, that early humans from a region just south of france built a boat and crossed the atlantic ocean. I haven't seen it in a while, maybe I'll search for a link somewhere.

Thanks for the parentheses, guess I missed it the first time through.

Yeah, Fox News is extremely biased. Nothing but a bunch of old right-wing white men who get paid to sit on their fat asses and give their "expert" advice on how America "should be". The worse is Hannity and Colmes, you have this young attractive conservative (Hannity) debating against this older, dorky-looking liberal (Colmes)....man I feel sorry for that dude!

Actually, don't news reporters have to look good when they report the news? That's why you never see anyone too ugly reporting news. Those female reporters are pretty fucking hot sometimes.

And Christopher Columbus was Italian but his CREW was Spanish (hispanics didn't even exist at the time).

You know what I never knew? That all reporters names are fake.

Which leads me to think, why would anyone give a reporter the name "Dick Johnson"? Granted it is possibly the best name ever, but it raises eyebrows.

I dunno, Chicago is a silly/wonderful place.

P.S. I WISH I was a fake Italian.
