My doctor finally gave me a big prescription for Tramacet (containing the opioid Tramadol) and all my physical pain is actually under control. But I'm also taking a pretty large amount for it to be effective, and it slows me down mentally, but my main concern is that my doctor said it works on the morphine receptors and he was concerned about addiction. But since I'm actaully pain free, which is a miracle in itself, I'm wondering if it would be worth it. So anybody know just how bad the withdrawl from Tramadol can be?
oh! on a side note I finally told my doctor I smoke weed today. I said "well, it seems to be working pretty well when I mix it with cannabis", and he just doesn't bat an eye and says "oh yeah, that's definately a really effective way to keep the pain down" lol.

You might wear down, after a while. You know how Weed raises and lowers your heartbeat, and, the adverse effects of tramadol are tachycardia and bradycardia, so it might wear you down.
Carbamazepine decreases the effectiveness of tramadol, and, with MAOIs, there is increased risk of tramadol toxicity.
You know that Marijuana is different.
If you get pregnant, discontinue use of the tramadol.

Actually, cannabis has a synergistic effect with opiates, and tramadol is a synthetic opiate derivative. Yes, you can get addicted to it, however, the w/ds are NOTHING compared to that of any other opiate painkiller...and I should know- I've been on them, and kicked them- all at one time or another....norcos, oxy, dilaudid, fentanyl, tramadol....actually, they usually use tramadol as a 'stepping down' agent when one is dting....however- be careful with your dose. High doses of that crap causes seizures in those prone to them.
Good luck!

Oh yes, in one study, certain doses of cannabis were shown to provide as effective pain relief as up to 120 mg of codiene. Yup. =) Neat, eh?

The side effects I'm experiencing now are a general diminishing of mental ability. Overall my brain is just processing things a lot slower, and I noticed when I smoke weed with it I'm really relaxed and happy, but now that I'm out of weed the tramadol just makes me irritable as hell.

For some reason weed hasn't been relieving my pain by itself anymore, and if I smoke excessively it actually increases it. If I keep my use down, or mix it with tramacet, it works amazingly though. But smoking too much definately diminishes its effectiveness and for some odd reason makes the pain worse.

I skateboard and excercise a lot, and pain killers, even OxYies, dont do shit man, for me. I know I know it sounds like bullshit, but Oxyies make me itchy and dont fuck up my mental faculties, or make me feel a body high, or lack of pain, or euphoria. If you develop a tolerance to pain, it will lessen any pain you are experiencing, and your NATURAL pain blocking techniques, will save you. Pain tolerance builds up from experiencing pain. Mixed with weed, your pain is gone. If you are used to kicking your own ass everyday working out, skateboarding, running...any excercise, then with a litte weed, your pain should be gone from your mind.
Also, as I said I dont know your disorder, so dont do anything I say, haha, but Red Cayenne Pepper will lessen your pain at once, detox you, and feed your heart organ. I dont know how many times straight ground red pepper has save and repaired my Heart from stimulants.
Search red cayenne pepper, ginger, and herbs, and you will find a ton of info on cures given by Mother Nature Herself, especially for pain and inflammation.

Tramadol addiction is rare, I did a SHITLOAD of that stuff for awhile. If you took like 5-6 pills it was pretty good, really chill, smoke a pack of cigs in one sitting kinda thing. 10-12 got intense and alcohol was pretty good with 3-4. If you snort that shit your gonna throw up, the drip is gnarly man, fuckin gnarly. If you do snort that shit, drink orange juice, youll thanks me man
EDIT: Im pretty sure mine werent tramacet, they were just tramadol. little football shaped ones.... and sometimes round
