Just curious...
Who in your family tokes up? Are you the lone toker in your family?
As for me, certain members of my family would probably be shocked to know that I love Mary Jane. However, my sister, who is ten years older than I, is very pleased to have learned about my entrance into this wonderful new world. Her husband has been smokin three days a week for over twenty years, and is a very successful business man. Weed is for all types, isn't it?
How about your family?

Used to think my mom smoked, not too sure anymore; doubtful.
I am probably the lone smoker, almost absolutely sure I'm the only tripper.
I really don't know for sure I never see my family, the entire thing is nearly extinct.

My mom used to, My dad still does for medical reasons and my sister also
does. Pretty much everyone in the family tree
insanity

Me, My mom and dad used too, my sister, all but two of my cousins, all my uncles and aunts. What kills me is that every person in my family (minus the two cousins because they are young) either is in college or has a degree (most of them PhD).

all my uncles smoke, 1 aunt smokes, but shes weird.
my dad smokes,
my whole dads side smokes,
my whole moms sides are drinkers..
My sister got married, went thru like 5 kegs, and 600 dollars in liquor.
in like 2 hours, they needed more.
My sister and bother-in-law used to smoke alot...
He is now on medication, he went a little insane so had to stop
And I think my sister only smokes when she is passed a spliff, her new boy-friend is completly against it.

well i used to think i was the only toker.. but then i started talkin to my half sister who's 25 and lives in cali and has a cannabis club card hehe.. she told our dad used to smoke and got his exwife to try it but she didnt like it.. now hes a c.o. and my moms a rigid uptight bitch so i think that me&my half sister are it until my brothers and other sister get a lil older
Everyone from all walks of life smoke weed. It doesnt target the normal person.
Plenty of famous people smoke it, TV personalities, entertainers, old ladies, presidants, most of the English government, which makes them extrmely hypocritical.
My cousins smoke it, i smoke it, my father smoked it. My grandfather smoked it in his pipe. Sadly i never got a chance to toke up with him, he died when i was just 3 [a little young for the weed lol]

I come from a stoner family. My folks were hippies in the 70's and backpacked all over Europe, then all of Canada. This was before they had me or my bro., loooooong before. When my bro was born though, my parents gave up marijuana and tobacco.
I grew up all around marrijuana though. Being from Holland and all, it was always present. No one in my close family tokes anymore though, just me, as far as I know, and they could care less. They could care less about it and knew nothing bad could come of it, and if anything did, my dad told me he would whoop my ass.
Even now my mom still pokes fun at my smoking, but it's all good. I'm lucky to have never grown up in a strict household, and I feel for you who do.
Bye.

My mom was an alky and despised smoking herb...go figure.
My dad smoked in his younger days. Funny thing was that he actually was busted and went on to become a cop. He's no longer a cop but hasn't returned to smoking. But he's a gin drinker...like father, like son.

Ive smoked with my mom once. She used to smoke alot in her child days. A couple years ago my mom and sister (My Aunt)Duh Went to Jamaica for a week. And ill be DAMNED if they didnt toke it up there ^ ^
both of my parents smoked when they were younger but both say they havent in about 20 years. my brother is afraid of it and my sister does it once in awhile when it is free.my dad was talking to me about it one day and he just blurted out "yeah i loved getting high." he also said when he was just out of highschool him and his friend saaw a thing in the paper about a big outdoor grow getting busted and they took a roadtrip up to whereever it was and stole a bunch of plants.

I guess as time goes on more and more young people will come from a weed background... If I had kids they wud be here saying ,,,my dad is a pothead...
I know in my heart that smoke is good for me,it has proved it,I wud guide just about anyone felling shitty, achy, depressed or wutever to pot...

Nope, I'm the only one. My parents make weed seem like the worst thing ever, when in reality it is basically harmless and much safer than cigarettes and drinking and other shit

I think weed should be a family bonding activity shared over the fireplace or dinner table. Nothing better than a Jay with portobello stroganoff.
I know a few of my cousins used to smoke weed.
Everyone in my family drinks. And everyone used to smoke cigs. But they all quit except for my mom.

I wish my parents toked, but sadly they don't anf if they find out I do....
My whole dad's side of the family. My dad, my grandpa, two out of three of my uncles, one of my aunts (she's a nurse.) All of my older cousins do it as well.
It's funny because my and my cousin will go take a walk down the street to smoke a joint at a christmas party or something, and all the adults are in the backyard or in somebody's van smoking. They think me and my cousin don't know what's going on though.

Only about 3 people I know of. My cousin, my mom and me. I'm sure theres more young ones that do it as well but I dont know for sure. They might be too scared of getting beat the fuck down by their parents if they got busted with it xD. (My family believes in beating children, thank God my parents dont though).

Howdy Sol,
My brother and I,were the pioneers of tokin,in our family..startin in 1972..we don't come from a tokin family--but we dang sure started it ! lol :D
Our old man would make us flush our weed down the toilet,if he found it and punish us with back-breaking chores..lol.
The second and third generations, are toking now,and it continues to amaze me and make me feel old, when I hear younguns talk about how their parents toke and about how they found their stash or something..lol. I'm still trying to come to terms with the whole deal..lol.
Any other old stoners like me,who feel somewhat flamboozeled by this ?

My dad smokes (and boy, what shitty mersh does he smoke) but it took me catching him red-handed on vacation for him to admit to it, and that was after ten minutes of hassling him because the smell of weed was coming through my air vent. Only reason I did that was because he was super strict about me not toking.

I found my bosses stash here at work too. That was somewhat a surprise.

I smoked with my mom for a little while. But she's in a "program" and she stopped because it would just lead to a string of bad things...My ex-step-dad used to smoke it ALL THE TIME. I was too young to understand, I guess.
My dad used to have a skull tattoo with a marijuana leaf behind it. Then he gave me shit about smoking so I gave him shit about his tattoo and he covered it up with Venom from Spider-man.
Mistake on my part.

Torog I know what you are saying. I am the only one in my family.
I don't know for sure what my parents would have done but it wouldn't have been nice. My Mother caught me trying to smoke a cigarette in our wash room and beat me with one of those old orange hot wheel tracks until my back started bleeding so I can't imagine having parents that are okay with
it...must be nice for the younger generation to have parents cool with it.

Howdy Shelbay,
Well I figured that I wasn't alone in this situation, those of us,who grew up in the South, during the 60's and 70's,mostly had redneck parents with no history of toking..ever..lol. So if and when we got caught with weed, the punishment was usually harsh,to say the least..lol.
Nowadays, however,my parents understand why I toke and they mostly object to me doing something that's still illegal to do..no matter how beneficial it is or being a safe alternative to prescription drugs and alcohol.

You are so on the money Torog. Man,......This is where balance comes in. A very good filter to screen most anything thru, is to consider how we would feel about our kids doing similarly. Observing families where the parents openly displayed, questionable activities, would unnerve me. I now realize that it is better to not hide from the family. Teaching our own kids to be hidden, is usually worse. To teach them to live an open life, honest with themselves, honest with others, Is a much healthier life than those taught hiddeness. There is something so validating, and energized, to.........be able to be who we are. To bless our kids to enjoy the freedom to live un-shamed.
I do have some major difficulties, for one ... the awareness that my kids lack the maturity to properly boundary this and exercise self control, and they haven't!!.........They re in there 20's. and I live straight with them all. I just won't hide ~ period. I don't allow it, now,. So therefore, by default, I'm not comfortable.
Then there's legality issues........ still, Man, If it involves illegalities,...Its more than I can comfortably pass down.
I'll tell ya, A friend gave me a joint 3 weeks ago, at least three weeks now!!!
I haven't been able to touch it, because of these problems. He asked me what I thought of it,........I ...I just don't have the freedom right now........I have to laugh,.... He went to my car, broke it in half, smoked his half,......and now I have half a joint... aaaaawww...The psychology of child rearing, scruples, and politics......
See, I just......... lay it out, This is me baby

Howdy braddog,
I hear ya ! I never felt comfortable, having to tell my daughter to keep my useage secret, but I certainly was honest with her, about what marijuana does for me,that it's a safer alternative to alcohol and as the years transpired, now for medicinal purposes. She fully supports my useage for medical reasons and is actually angry at the 'system',for the prohibition against marijuana and the way that I was treated by the 'justice' system, for daring to choose marijuana, instead of choosing deadly, dangerous, addicting ,prescription narcotics to treat my chronic pain and spasticity.
I hope that things git better for ya:thumbsup: Seems to me,that you've paid yer 'dues',and that the least you should be able to do,is to come home and choose a safe alternative to alcohol,in order to wind down after work and ease yer aches and pains.
Have a good one ! :)

I experienced the same, buddy. I understand exactly where you are, well close. I could only work every other day for a while. If I had an active day, I paid for it the next. For me ~ Mj gave immediate relief. Un freakin believable....immediate relief. If I was to experience it again, I wouldn't hesitate.
I would definitely check out a different flavor. I remember a bipolar thread where.......um I don't remember his name .....but he suggested three varieties as I recall that would be more manic friendly. The kind that wires me a bit tight along w/ my own hardwiring....made for an interesting situation. I just don't care that much for the zone out type. It makes me feel uncomfortable, but I understand that it is more of the medicinal variety. I'll have to go back to that bipolar thread. Some 'o' boys dad was off the edge. I can find it, I think the contributors advise considered the manic issue. This manic thing hit me a few years after the chronic pain did. I would have loved the relief of Med. MJ years prior to finding out. WW. Is definitely too exciting for me. I would have to tone down the variety aaa........ some.
Getting back to our families, I would never trade the ability to talk freely in the home.......with anything. What a gift we can give our kids to be open. It opens up a Safe environment, for them to enjoy also, to all be who we are. I feel sorry for families that don't enjoy this....... shallow, shallow relationships.
As the resident Jesus Freak, well.......This is what true Christianity is all about. Jesus fought the hidden ones. Hypocrite. was a term to identify actors of their day, wearers of the mask (to change to a different character). Wearing a mask.....not their true selves. Jesus used this term to describe them (The deceptive ones). We all assumed he was referring to those of us on the outside, thru the N.T..........Not True.
The religious hypocrisy, that is clearly seen today?......isn't God. ....The religious hypocrite....to read the post above???.......Come on, we know the deal. Circuits would short, Wires would burn it would require a major overhaul. The Lord exposes it because of his love. But, the individual must come out from hiding............. (The Hypocrites NEED to be OK) - must die.....they can't talk honestly with their kids,......... denying them a safe environment to be honest, real, ...and Free (the will of God).
When honesty and a desire for reality and truth arrive, the Lord receives quickly, He sees them, me, any of us,......He recognizes it from a farrr distance (the prodigal son). He is still much more awesome, than any of us can conceive. But.......we ........place Him among, those,..the hypocrites and any of us who deny who we really are.
The Church does not have the corner on hypocracy.
The following is taken from Wycliffe Bible Dictionary.
HYPOCRISY, HYPOCRITE. In the context of Greek Drama the term hypocrite was applied to an actor on the theater stage. Since an actor pretends to be someone other than himself, hypocrites was applied metaphorically to a person who ??acts a part? in real life, pretending to be better than he actually is, one who simulates goodness. In secular Gr. Literature, therefore, hypocrites may be either neutral or undesirable. In the NT, however, it is always undesirable, signifying one who works a deception by feigned piety.
I know ...a little sermon. I appreciate your time.
No offering will be taken today.
Thanks for your post, Turog.
These kind of post...... pull on me a bit..

Howdy braddog,
Yup..I would like to know about which strains are best for bi-polar folks,as I have a bi-polar friend, who's at the mercy of prescription meds, that seem to work only part of the time.
There is alot of hypocracy going around and I'm sometimes hypocritical myself, despite my best efforts..dang it ! However,I also realize, that I'm just an imperfect human and prone to making mistakes,I try to hold myself to a higher standard, and learn from my mistakes.
I would like to git together with you and onward,as well as many other Texas members:) I'm sure that we would have a great time !
