Ill make these quick.
1. Do buds have to be cured in mason jars? Will regular jam jars work or not, even if I reseal it each day with some duct tape as well as the lid?
2. Will two days of curing make any difference to the taste?
3. Will two days of curing make any difference to the potency?
Cheers peeps :)

The jars should be glass is all. And they should have a snug lid. I would not sweat the duct tape. Probably unecessary.
My retired-grower buddy told me that 3 days in a paper bag with the top rolled shut before putting the buds in mason jars smoothes the flavor drastically. I have yet to try this, but she grew for YEARS and swears by it.
2. Will two days of curing make any difference to the taste?
I doubt it will be perceptible.
3. Will two days of curing make any difference to the potency?
You can't change the potency. What you harvest is what you get.

Take a small portion and give it a water cure, I prefer this over curing mainly because I am an inpatient man but do what you may.
2 days of curing probably wont, but a week will. If your that inpatient you could take a small portion and smoke on that while the other portion cures, I have done this in the past and 2 weeks of cure makes quite a difference. Curing it doesnt make it more potent it just breaks it down for a richer, smoother smoke. Id say weed connisuers prefer this, and id like to call myself a weed connisuer but I am also inpatient....
Technically water curing increases potency but only because it reduces some of the plant material leaving you with a higer THC/Vegetable Matter ratio.

I now use seal-a-meal to vaccuum my mason jars. I leave em sit for 2 weeks. When I open em,, OMG!! The smell and taste is bitchin'!!

proper curing techniques include opening your jars for atleast 10 mins a day for the first 1-2 weeks....

This is what I got elsewhere about curing.
Fill jars about halfway ---> 3/4's and then seal. Place into a dark closet. Next day remove the lids from the jars and leave them off for about twenty minutes. Once lid is off, shake gently, do not shake. Repeat. This takes around a week to finish.
I have read in the past that someone mentioned that their smoke was particularily weak and bitter. They experimented with curing and said that curing for 60-90 days made for an incredible smoke.
