Hello,

I think (my opinion only) that it will be close to impossible to tell what strain it is. You will be able to tell if the particular plant that you are growing is a sativa dominant or an indica dominant phenotype of strain (whatever it is). But that is about it.

The only chance I think that you might have of finding out is if the person that you got the herb from knows what strain it is, or if he/she does not know, maybe they could find out.

Good luck to you in your search.

Congrats on getting your girl to this stage. I hope that she yields plentiful for you.

Peace

The student is right about identifying a specific strain like knowing if it's northern lights or whatever but there are ways to narrow it down........rub the leaves and stems to check out the smell-- hashy, minty, skunky, citrusy etc..........look for any kind of trait like twisted leaf growth inherent in blueberry or oregon purple thai.........record internode length  hell every little nuance of the little bugger because if it turns out to be a killer plant, someday you might buy a strain that is very close to the same specs...blah blah :p and it's possible--very slim--that it is the same strain

look for odd trates like unusual colours. it is pretty easy to determine indica or sativa, and it is most likely sativa, for it has larger yield, meaning more weed, more money, for each plant for ya grower, but are the leaves deep green or even glossy or paler green? if paler it is a sativa, deep and sometimes shiny it is indica, if i got this the right way around.
